I think you're right, and when he gets set up he goes from a similar position in your picture to the upright bit.

It's just a harder variation of that stretch afaik, your pic is just part of a progression to it.

If you keep your torso pretty upright you should feel your hip flexor stretch. IIRC Kelly Starrett mentioned that it keeps your lumbar in a good position so when you push through you won't round it.

It's been a while, all I know is it was hard at first but helped a ton.

I'll dig up a few videos on it if you want, no doubt he'll mention some bo***cks about torque, loading the muscle, going into the pain cave and about how sunny it is etc lol.

Also is that below parallel? Couldn't tell by the camera angle. The biggest power clean I've seen is 222kg.

I don't want to overstep any boundaries but...the only thing I noticed was that it looks as if your foot is rolling in a very tiny bit when you hit the hole. It might have just been an off rep though but maybe pushing your knees out a little bit further might kill two birds with one stone.

If you want any stretches I highly recommend the couch stretch and glute stretch with one leg on a sofa (like the "pigeon pose").

Just correcting this, she was 64.65kg not 69kg, I could have sworn the pdf said 69.6kg.

That just makes it even more impressive, probably would have won the -63kg class by a considerable margin too!

RE: the entry total rule -
The total weight of the starting attempts declared and actually taken in the Snatch and the Clean & Jerk cannot be less than fifteen (15) kg below the verified Entry Total for women and twenty (20) kg below the verified Entry Total for men. The Jury will exclude the athlete from the competition if this rule is not adhered to. The above rule is commonly referred to as the “15/20 Kilo Rule”.
