If he did 335 shirted that's very strong and not far off the British record.
Jay is very strong, but is he a 230kg bencher though? I don't know if he's competed since but at the BDFPA British last year he totalled 780 with a 200kg bench.

Yeh bud think theres a vid of jay doing 230 could be wrong though mate not 100%,seen him do 250 (or it could have been 230 im thinking of) with a slingshot which means f**k all but still a massive bench.

I did a speed session with them before Christmas and he had 220 on with chains, bands allsorts lol.

Aye, think Coombes has bench record or so Jim Nuttall said of around 350ish in 110's?? so looking at the shirted vid id say baz has the record in him

Il get the vid now....

not sure its on youtube, its on his facebook here but not sure it'll appear....

will re-start this as changed routines around for the time being.

Doing a routine Milsey sent me.

Last weeks went like this, like to train every other day.

Squats

Warms ups

60 x 10 x 2
100 x 5
120 x 5
140 x 5

Worksets

152 x 2 x 6 set

Bench

60 x 10 x 3
80 x 10
100 x 5
110 x 3 x 6 sets

----------------------------------------------------------------

squats...again!

WU

60 x 10 x 2
100 x 5
120 x 5

Work Sets

152kg x 3 x 6 sets

Reverse Hypers

3 sets failure

Cable crunches

3 sets failure.

Hips are agony, obviously quite weak, but every rep is under parallel, squatting 3 times a week is a nightmare but need to build raw strength from ground up, suprisingly last 2 sets flew up after I narrowed my stance slightly.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ad to bring deadlift day forward and will do legs-chest again on monday now, working tomorrow plus on call so no chance of training, so didn't wanna go 2 days without....legs felt tired more than sore.

warm up

60 x 10 x 2
100 x 5
140 x 5

worksets

180 x 3 reps x 6 sets

Speed Pulls (all against doubled over green bands)

100 + bands x 2 x 3 sets
120 + bands x 2 x 3 sets
130 + bands x 2 x 3 sets

done, bands were nearly ripping bar from my grip at top so pretty tight.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

and Todays training...21st? january....

squats and bench

60 x 10
100 x 5
120 x 5

work sets

152kg x 2 x 6 sets.

All olympic style squats, ass to grass, 1st time squatting like this with that weight, felt good tbh. I noticed on last two sets last week it felt easier when my stance was closer, so tried them today and very happy with how its worked.

bench

60 x 20
100 x 10

worksets

120 x 2 x 6 sets

Again on worksets played with technique, elbows tucked as lowered on last two sets made it feel like 100kg not 120kg.

Good session, enjoying the squatting too, hard graft and simple, not a band, box or anything in sight.

Jay who he trains with him is a strong guy too, 300+ deadlift, 300+ squat and 230+ bench....all raw.

I believe baz did 335kg in a shirt at the week-end aswell...and looked like he was locking out a warm up weight.

BigMacca said:I'm in Barnsley mate,

I train in Leeds normally on Monday and Wednesday nights (but I do sometimes train my my very well equipped facility like tonight for example as I can't get into work)

I also train every Friday at home and every Saturday morning at Temple Gym in Wombwell.

Let me know if you Fancy training and I'll see what we can rustle up.

Cheers

Macca

Hiya Macca, had no idea you were from tarn mate, been following your journal for quite a while tbh mate, that would be great mate, Im over in Grimethorpe and trained at betterbodies on Wombwell High street for most part of last year but when switched to PL'ing no one seemed bothered tbh! So just bought a power rack and the basics and kitted garage out, got to point now though where I need that extra motivation!

Hiya fellas,

been training since september last year, got a decent setup at home but getting to point where I need to start training around other blokes who have more experience or enthusiasm for it, still motivated training at home but feel id progress a bit more around a team, and hopefully i have something to other aswell, I don' mind if raw or equipped, just need to get some experience ideally.

Awkward shifts workwise don't help but even if its training once or twicea week would be good to know if anyone in area, Im from Barnsley.
