Pretty crazy percentage.
I agree, drugs dont make athletes, they give them a chance to push on beyond their natural capabilities.
No quantity of EPO would make me a world class cyclist, nor do i believe any quantity of PEDs would make me world class at any sport.
You need the talent and the disire also, and this is why I dont think they should be forgotten as is being suggested, they were still world class athletes
He broke the rules of his sport, and should thus be treated exactly the same way as others who broke the same rules. It seems pretty straightforward to me

Probably the most sensible quote on this subject. I agree

x2!!!
It seems around 70% of guys in gyms in the UK use, and most look like s**t / are weak as piss / not competitive in any sport.
This treatment of a sporting legend is bulls**t!

Plenty of young guys in my gym use and they havent a clue. They get a bit of extra size and strength when they are on. they hardley train when they are off. Waste of good money if you ask me lol

Have you actually read this thread? His main rivals HAVE BEEN CAUGHT. This is not a which hunt like people are making it out to be.
I dont give a f**k about his PED use, it was rife in the sport, but he should be treated the same as everyone else.
Just because he was the best, that doesnt make him exempt from the rules. The assertion otherwise is ludicrous.

Yeah i get what your saying. Suppose it's a large step to make the sport cleaner. Guys will think twice about cheating because they will know it could come back to hunt them later.

Yeah correct, I agree. But you could take drugs and train like a crippled 60 year old if you couldn't be arsed. You wouldn't win 7 TDF's then. Depends what context "train like a mother f**ker" is taken as I suppose. I like to think I (sometimes Grin) train like a motherf**ker, PED free.

Your right you still have to want to put in the effort. The drugs will assist you, but they wont make you go and put in all the hard work. Whats the big problem anyway, all his main competetiors were likey juiced to the gills as well. Hes just being victimised because hes the best.

You can train hard naturally but the drugs will help you recover faster, so you can go a 100% the next day again. its harder to overtrain when on.

Tom you have a great deadlift. Just for interest, how much could you pull when you first started? I bet it was lot more than the average beginner.

Still do mma

All sports need to be played on an even playing field. Either get tough with testing or allow whatever they want to take. Every sport has cheats

130-135kg would be a good weight. You are already very explosive and that extra weight would probably add to your static strength. Whats your max deadlift??
» Andy Bolton & Dave Carter Deadlifting (Go to post)22-10-2012 @ 12:03
I went to a seminar of his and the speed he deadlifts is unreal. 170kg deadlift the speed you would expect someone to lift the bar. I know thats not an incredible weight, but the speed shocked me!Heavier weights were also very easy and fast. I think he just went up to around 350 that day because he had a comp coming up!
