No, I can honestly say iv never heard of him untill the recent threads. Just a thought If hes wanted to get very well known hes done that now with all the conversations about him.
Probably a good publicity stunt, its even made me google him.
Usually the way you dont get famous till you do something wrong or upset people in the strenth game.

he's a static monster. I've never met the man, but I'm sure he's an ok guy. I just get the impression he takes no s**t and says it like it is. I'd much rather have that than some c**t always smiling just because he's supposed to. Plus he said said one of the most memorable quotes I've read on here Happy

I'm a hateful irish bas***d who is willing to learn from all those who are stronger than me, which is pretty much everyone on here

I dont understand the b**ching and im not taking sides, just think this thread has big time got out of hand. Anyway I come on here to learn stuff from expierenced lifters and check out lots of cool videos. Strongman is a sport of grown men who bust their balls to get stronger. I for one support any guys here who compete and do well for themselves. I myself do not compete as of yet. I am not very strong but I love lifting and try to improve everyime I train. Imo everyone just needs to chill out and support other lifters!

Obviously when ones behaviour is breaking the law, then of course publicity is bad. Sports stars stirring the pot is hardly the same thing. Anyhow like I said before, I think Ed is a good character for strongman and I like his dont give a s**t what people think attitude. Good luck to him cause Im sure hes going to have a very good career as he is still only 24.

Come off it. Where is the need for the ultra defensive nature of these posts, a 1002kg total put up under those standards isn't EVEN close to 1000kg put up in the IPF.
You know it, I know it, everyone knows it. I'm not going to slap everyone on the back who picks up a barbell and does what ever they want. I'm sure the kids strong, I don't care for the conditions under which he lifts sue me.

I agree with this, im a fan of raw lifting. like a guy at my gym once said, if you cant lift it in plain clothes, then you really CANT lift it.

like the wolfman in Gladiator.
He was the "bad guy"
N i loved him Grin
Eds not actually a bad guy though. Just speaks his mind. When your with him, its quite funy and hes quite the character.

Yeah I know he isnt, but wolfman played the bad guy which was quite funny, I could see Ed doing something similar. Strongman is an exciting sport, more and more of my mates are getting into it. The sport needs all the exposure it can get. The starndard is also rising all the time, which makes it an even greater spectacle now.

I personally think hes a great persona for strongman. No such thing as bad publicity. If Ed going off on one, brings new people to the sport, either to boo him as a big bad guy, or for some new kids to cheer on the Bad guy. Lets face it every sport needs someone that fans will either love or hate. It stirs much more interest when they compete.Just my opinion!

Magnussons 1015 deadlift. Looked effortless and the way he ever so gently leaves it down. The fact that its belt only, makes it even more impressive.
