» Is it necessary to cheat to get to the top in life? (Go to post)24-10-2012 @ 13:40

Clearly if boxing is a sport that protects you from the legal implications of what you are doing to your opponent then, by cheating, you are no longer actually "boxing" and deserve to get f**ked......right?

Boxing is my favourite sport, lots of boxers have been getting caught recently for cheating. Floyd Mayweather is right call for sterner testing, as your life is on the line when you fight.

Would you really get away with killing someone just because you followed the rules of your sport?

If it was accidental and no cheating involved, I think so. Fighters have died before after fights. doesnt happen as much now, as refs usually would stop anyone taking to heavy a beating

Not about the sport, but, if he was a boxer and killed someone in the street because of his superior punching power, then the CPS would probably pursue assault with a dangerous weapon (ie murder).

I think this happend to a boxer in America. He killed a guy outside a bar, the judge said his hands are lethal weapons so was very harsh with sentencing.

So its ok to be good if you have been dealt a hand of good genetics, otherwise, f**k off, you are not allowed to hit hard? Grin
What about manipulating bodyweight to come in way over the weight the fight is stated as, which should allow some harder hitting?

I think on the day weigh ins should be brought back. Lots of fighters have gained a stone or more following the weigh in.

No, but he didn't cheat to gain 25% so it's not the same at all is it?

Its just the same as someone thats stronger in the gym just through genetics and better training

I think it's a fair point. If for example a fighter filled their gloves with say lead allowing them to hit 25% harder and this lead to thir oponent being killed then surely it would be manslaughter at the very least. If by contrast a fighter was to take PED drugs, and they increase his punch by 25% which lead to their oponents death then this would be exactly then same offence.
I wonder however if this could ever be proved enough to stand up in court

Antonio Margarito was caught with plaster in his gloves before his fight with Shane mosely. Since he was caught, he seems to have lost his punching power. Makes you wonder how long hes been getting away with it and if any other boxers were doing the same.

LOL. What are you on about?!? Confused

Had little sleep, not making much sense the day lol. Basically I mean combat sports should be on an even playing field because the risk of serious brain injury would be greater.

Boxing and mma are two sports that need to seriously toughen their testing. If someone dies or gets seriously hurt and the guy that does it was caught doping, surely that would be manslaughter

f**k yes it is! If it's breaking the f**king rules it's cheating, no ifs, no buts
I don't care what anybody at WSM takes because there are no rules to break, I care that lance was doping because it was cheating

On here not the world stage - Mongo's 200k log (just cos prob one of smallest blokes to ever do it), Shaniac 140 log at 23kg bodyweight and Jay's (Ursus) 100k strict press dumbbell

lot of strong guys on this site. the amount of guys pulling and squatting around 300 is great. Lot of potential out there i suppose
