Trained on "The Farm" with WILLSAN and jt again yesterday.

YOKE

240 for 20 metres - felt heavy!
300 for 20 metres - messy, one drop
320 for 20 metres - PB - that`s better!
360 - a few messy steps

FARMER`S

70 per hand for 40 metres
100 per hand for 20 metres
120 per hand for 20 metres
140 per hand for 20 metres

OVERHEAD MEDLEY - yoke, log trainer, axle, "bag" - all around 100Kg

Dropped yoke and got hit in the face. My 1st thought (apart from OUCH) was - are my teeth still there? They were. Split my lip and had a bloody nose.

Did the medley twice (minus yoke!). Failed the "bag" both times.

Atempted 120 axle (although initially it was mis-loaded at 130!), but couldn't quite clean it. Had nothing left. Also attempted to press the "bag" again, but failed.

Will and Jason, I'll see you tomorrow at 11am!

Will, if there is a last minute change of plan, please contact me via text, as I won't be online again today.

hows the back wayne? im looking forward to a heavy yoke + farmers medley! I was thinking of axle/oly bar/log trainer/yoke for a press medley?

It wasn't a bad strain, and I think I'll be OK on Sunday, as long as I don't go mad with back-dominant stuff! I'll see how I feel. Overhead medley sounds good.

Overhead work.
Medleys - even though I HATE cardio!

I think I'll skip the yoke this time. Don't want to put too much pressure on my back. Plus, it was such a bugger to adjust it last time.

Looking forward to it.

Rarely. I feel there's a high injury risk.

OH NO, NOT CARDIO!! Yep, I'll be there! I did suffer a minor back strain this morning, but I'm sure that'll be healed by Sunday.

Nice block deadlifts mate. Your worst DL area from the floor?

No, the lock-out is my weakest part, but I think these are beneficial wherever your weakness lies.

This morning... (I'm not including all the warm-up lifts, not that I do many!)

POWER CLEANS (with small diameter (10Kg) discs on)...

102.5 - 3 reps, 3 reps, 3 reps.

DEAD LIFTS standing on blocks (approx 2.5")...

245 - 1 rep, 1 rep.

Slightly strained my back on the 2nd single. Nothing major. This meant I had to skip squats.

CHINS (under-hand grip)...

BW+20 - 3 reps, 3 reps
BW - 9 reps.

SINGLE-HAND PLATE PINCHING

I currently use a pair of 15s (smooth side outwards!) with a chain threaded through for a little extra weight. I did 3 sets each hand - pick it up, hold until it starts to slip, put down. These holds last a few seconds, with my right hand out-performing my left.

BW + 80kg for 45secs

That's good!

I think that's a good choice of weight for the log. Slightly on the heavy side - just as it should be!! I'd consider myself to be an average presser for an u105 strongman, and I've done 2 full reps with that weight in training.

Us shorties are the guys who cause headaches for comp officials when it comes to the yoke!!

I've just been playing with my Captains of Crush number 1.5 gripper. Should that be included in my journal? I can easily rep with it with my right hand, but my left hand can only just close it. Interestingly it is nearly always my RIGHT hand that gives way first on holds.

How can I edit the title of a thread? There is a small error in the title of a training journal I've just set up.

Firstly, here are my current PB lifts...

DEAD LIFT - 252.5 (I know I can beat this now - back is stronger than ever)
SQUAT (wrapped) - 230
SQUAT (raw) - 207.5
STRICT PRESS - 105 barbell, 106 log
PUSH PRESS - 122.5
LOG - 120
AXLE - 121
SILVER DOLLAR DEAD LIFT - 340
POWER CLEAN - 112.5
BENCH - never train it, but I've done a comfortable 140

TODAY'S TRAINING...

I was still not 100% recovered from training HEAVY with WILLSAN and jt on Sunday, so I didn't do as much as I was planning to.

AXLE (continental clean & push press) - worked up to...
110 - 2 full reps, 2 full reps, 2 full reps

DEAD LIFTS (standing on blocks) - worked up to...
243.5 - 1 rep, 1 rep

SQUATS (raw) - worked up to...
180 - 6 reps
