Trained at "The Farm" with WILLSAN and jt today. It was a cardio-based session, so I knew I'd be crap! LOADING - 3 100Kg(?) "bags" carried and then put over a yoke 1st run - only managed 2, but wasn't shouldering them. KNACKERED afterwards!! 2nd run - used shouldering technique and got all 3 over (with a small cheat on the last one!) at a plodding pace. DUCK WALK (170) and DRAG (weight unknown) 1st run - completed it 2nd run (heavier drag) - struggled to budge the drag. Didn't get very far. The weight was reduced (twice) during my effort, but didn't make much difference. I had nothing left! I need more sessions like this, as I always struggle with speed/fitness events in comps.

Today's session was cardio-based and confirmed what I knew already - my strongman fitness is s**tE!

Don't be too disappointed, JC. Remember what level this comp was! I've watched Tony's video, and it looked like a big/tall man's comp. Shame there wasn't a yoke!

WILLSAN said: ive got a loading pin and handle to use for a duckwalk. can only get it to 140 with the plates ive got but with some extra 15kg plates it could be heavier (20s are too big). jt, have you got any 15 plates you can bring along so we can have a decent weight on the duck walk?

We have a lack of guys who are interested in (or tough enough for!!) strongman. We have - thick bar log (home-made) farmer's yoke (a VERY awkward one) 6 Atlas Stones 3 tyres a few rocks of various weights kegs a pivot dead lift machine We had a big chain (for dragging), but it has been borrowed by another gym.
