I just want to add that jt's stones are quality.

Is it potentially harmful to the knees to pause at the bottom position of a full squat?

Just under that.

Plenty high enough for me!

If you look at the physiques of top level powerlifters in the 100s and 110s (and even some of the shorter 90 guys), they generally look like off season bodybuilders.

You think so?

I haven't noticed many bodybuilder-type physiques at powerlifting comps, although I'm not really looking out for that sort of thing!

Just an aside to the main debate a friend of mine called Fivos Averkiou competed in Londons Strongest Man (Novice) and the Anglian bodybuilding champs on the same weekend a couple of years ago. Think he won the bodybuilding show and did respectably well in the strongman which was his first comp'. Strong bloke, lifetime natural and stays in very good shape year round.

I remember him at London's 2007.

BB's look good on stage but let's not forget most are infact very small men!

That's a good point and one that I hadn't thought of. In terms of frame size and height many of them aren't as big as they look.

I'd like to reword that...

I think only very strong bodybuilders would have a chance of transferring across in a short time frame.

Some ex-bodybuilders have done well in strongman. Eddie Ellwood is an example.

I think only very strong bodybuilders would be able to transfer across in a short time frame.

There have been a couple of embarrassingly bad performances from bodybuilders-turned-strongmen in WSM (check out 1995 Heat 4 and 1998 Heat 4). They really shouldn't have been there!

Do I think BBing is a sport? no.

Is it my cup of tea? no.

Do I respect the amount of hard work and dedication it takes to get onto stage? yes.

My views exactly.
