11.12.12

Bench day
Warmed up with some squats power cleans and stuff then did overhead squats with empty bar with heels elevated and actually managed to get full rom which is an improvement.

Bench press

20 2xalot
60 1x15 2x10
100 2x3
125 1x8, 1x10 (I'm doing an Ed coan routine for bench, the prescribed reps were 2x8 and I managed a couple more on the last set so its going well)

Close grip incline press (each rep paused)
65x10
105x5
122.5x5
132.5x3 (+1 rep PB)
137.5x2 failed 3rd (+1 rep PB)

Dips
Bwx15
+25 2x10

Pushdowns
3x20 ascending weight

Overhead extensions
3x15 ascending weight

Seated rope pushdowns
3x20 ascending weight

Good session today, triceps are definitely getting stronger

You've obviously not read the previous threads with/about him...
I said yes no doubt he's strong. But those reps are awful. His form on the last few is terrible, and no wander he's got injured.
A deadlift is just that... A 'dead' 'lift', ie dead from the floor. I don't like TNG on them. Would he get those reps not TNG? I doubt it.
(This is just my opinion, not worth much!) Grin

I know threads your on about but I'm more bothered about how strong the guy is.

I don't get why your calling him an idiot and his awful rep work got him to a just under 900lb deadlift

f**kin crazy, i think hes backing off heavy deads for a bit due to a slight injury but theres a recent vid of him training with eric lilliebridge and hes close grip benching 170 for 13 then 185 for 8

Edit: somebody beat me to it

It would be great to see more top guys there, trouble is you've got guys that compete at world level like hall and gearing but alot of the competitors are no where near that level so choosing weights is either gonna lead to loads of no reps or weights that everyone can manage but are gonna be mega easy for the top guys
» uksc tonight (Go to post)10-12-2012 @ 23:03
I've been bored s**tless, no reps on log, barely any distance on shield carry, hercules hold times were all low except for hall, pole push injured everyone they need to lighten the weights abit
» Back training (Go to post)10-12-2012 @ 18:14
Pull ups, bent over rows, pulldowns, machine rows, I train with a bodypart split so I have a back + biceps day which might be unnecesary but I think bent over rows are a very good exercise especially for deadlifts

9.12.12

Events

Warmed up

Log
65 2x5
85 x2 clean both reps
105x1
125x1 (=PB but it was much easier than than the first time i pressed it)

Pressing medley
105 log
70ish axle
100ish keg

Got 5 reps in total in 75 seconds, the keg is really hard to press

1 arm dumbbell
88xclean failed press (this dumbbell is horrible, today was the first time I've managed to get it in a good pressing position)
» pull ups (Go to post)09-12-2012 @ 00:29
I'll try this next week

luke00 said:Here's a challenge for you all. Do this and report back how many reps you get:

1. Wide-grip pull-ups: as many reps as possible
Rest 10 secs

2. Medium-grip pull-ups: as many reps as possible
Rest 10 secs

3. Medium-grip chin-ups: as many reps as possible
Rest 10 secs

4. Narrow-grip chin-ups: as many reps as possible
Rest 3 mins

Repeat steps 1-4 twice

All have to be strict, no cheating. Post up results and bodyweight lets see what you can do.
