8 years!! Did you ever use them?

Yea lots, best pair of trainers ever, they were £90 too so over 8 years and counting it has worked out at £11 a year aha.

Originally I brought and wore them as a fashion trainer probs for the first 2 years. Then for the next 5 I just wore them for running(lots of miles) and boxing and generally when ever I was going any wear messy/muddy. Now I just used them to and from work and occasionally the gym. Mind you they have been in the wash a few times, the only defect was on the front left sole from me prancing around boxing(I'm a southpaw)got my old man to glue em and they were fine.

I'm in doubt my new Nike trainers will last as long as my old ones but I'd definitely recommend a pair of Nike.

Yeah I agree to a certain extend but it's a lot more effort if you have someone with 30-40kg more body weight bearing down on you even though you may be stronger.

I have just recently purchased a pair of nike free run+ 3.0 they are brilliant although they were £90. Perfect fit and they don't have a tongue so to speak that moves. Previously I had a pair before that lasted me 8 years but they are still going strong but I just invested in a new pair.

Yeah, I am apprehensive about the fact that injuries may occur. Recently I have had to stop deadlifting due to heavy lifting construction work as I just wasn't getting the recovery although I shall resume deadlifting soon.

Anyone.... I'm thinking of starting back up but I think 80kg is a bit small for open side flanker at adult level.

This is why I love this site, only have 300kg deadlift, feel weak aha. Keep it up thought and strive for your goals.

Or do you still consider yourself weak?

In your personal experience how much does wearing a specialist suit add to your lifts? Oh course I guess it changes on the individual but I would like to know.

I'm not trying to say that It would make you stronger. But been a brickie you will naturally have more stamina, stronger forearm (whichever trowel arm it is) an harder skin/grip compared to someone who types at a computer all day. I use to be on the od years ago and it kept me a s**t load fitter than I realised back then

Understandable, although from personal experience I feel it does not do much, it can wear your forearms out to much so you can't give them a full workout.

I agree with what your saying, but .... for me, I'm a uni student as I guess I spend a lot of time studying and when I get back to manual work it takes a week of being tired then I'm fine and adjusted back into work.

I can remember when I first started work, I couldn't even contemplate going the gym as I used to be falling asleep at 7:30pm when I was 18. It took me months to become adjusted from a school environment to a working one then training on top.

I can imagine it being the same for someone who comes from a computer job to a manual job it will effect their training. In contrast to the two it doesn't matter in my opinion, now I've started working it is more taxing on my lower back. What I will say is that someone coming to a computer job will feel very lethargical for a long time coming into a real heavy manual job and it will effect their training.

Overall, I'd rather an office job as it allows your body to not be under a lot of stress all the time as we all know strongman can be taxing on the joints.

I have been laying 6 inch blocks all week. I'm sick to f**king deaf of people saying you will not need to go the gym laying them as it will make you strong. NO, dumb ass lifting heavy weights will make me stronger not a block all day continuously.
» whats your running times like? (Go to post)13-07-2013 @ 18:22
Just interested to see what strongmen/power lifters running times are, I know a lot of you stray away from 'intense' cardio.

Your 1 mile times? or what ever time you last did over a distance.
