Sparrow said: Another level, another sport. I just can't help it Faz! ![]() Love a good debate, lets say that there Chinese Training methods. Out of the 16 different events that the current World Champion in crossfit excelled at and number 2 were all the strength events therefor I'm sure the weightlifting events would be of ease for lu xiaojun. Lets take the event of snatch for 30 reps at 135lbs, I'm quite sure that would be extremely light weight for him. From all his years squatting I'm assuming he will have a good broad jump as it carries over on the different events..... Of course it is an endurance sport but this guy has been training all his life I'm sure he is very adaptable to the conditioning events been a world class athlete. It's not like I've selected a 300lb weightlifter.

Sparrow said: He wouldn't. Not without a lengthy period of specifically training for it anyway. Even then there's no way of knowing unless he actually did it, so it's a moot point really. I know... Its just a matter of opinion. Its not like its not been done in other sports before like lesnar in ufc ect.... Don't forget, I pretty sure Olympics athletes are on another level. Not to turn the tread into a debate. ![]()

Funny you should post this, earlier today my friend and I were having a pointless argument regarding crossfit. He was stating they are highly trained and I was just stating lu xiaojun could clearly win at the crossfit games. He argues he couldn't .....
» Should I get Weightlifting Shoes? (Go to post) | 03-01-2013 @ 19:55
Wes said:Would you benefit from having a heel ? I know I didn't. Lot of money to potentially waste. Get to SportsDirect first and pick up a pair of cheap Lonsdale trainers for about 15 squid. Hard, slim sole that's perfect for lifting in. Worn a pair for years until the sole finally fell off, back in my old Converse now. I feel I would, especially on front squats. Although I do ankle mobility exercises daily, I feel it would enable my back position to be more vertical. However, that's nothing a strip of wood can solve.

How many of you have them and are they value for money? I'm contemplating on getting a pair as I'm sick of walking around barefoot as I only have Nike shocks for gym shoes. I don't know if I can justify paying £160 for a pair, I know there is cheaper options also. Any recommendations on what to get?

I'm definitely eating enough without a doubt. I want to do some work but my eyes keep drifting off and my body is telling me to go back to bed. I'm dreading going back to University next week and I'll be even more messed up with lack of sleep and exhaustion. This is why I only train 3 times a week but I think training 3 times a week is more tiring than 4.

I've been following routine: http://oldschooltrainer.com/reg-parks-beginner-routine/ I feel this routine is stated for beginners however, I feel people with 5 years of training on there hand would find this routine exhausting. Over the last 3 months my squats have gone up by 40kg and 35kg for dead lifts but the deadlifts have stalled as I feel I give it my all on the front squats. I'm sitting here typing falling asleep, I literally trained yesterday morning rested all day went bowling at 9pm and then had some chicken nuggets at maccies as IIFYM eat it haha and got in at 1 and woke up at 9. If im not tucked up in bed by 10:30 and up at 8:30 i'm shattered. Should I follow a lest intense routine as I just fell exhausted all the time and I deloaded the week before Christmas.

dr_hazbun said:How old are you? 512 will get you to GBPF nationals. 402 will get you there if you're under 23. That would be VERY respectable for your first comp. AdamC said:Those are respectable numbers mate At powerlifting comps you get respected for having the guts to step on the platform, it doesn't matter if you're squatting 100kg or 400kg I'm 22 and been lifting for about 1.5 years and that's what I initially though, although we all have that competitive side in us that makes us want to win.
