Well am not now but to get strong as f**k?
At some point, am doing only thick handle grippers at mo.
Edit - lol the lack of carbs had me miss that at first

Nah. Not needed. Ever. Don't be a dirty juicer. It's cheating.

You think i aimed to deadlift 300k x 10 at u90k naturally? The 300 x 10 touch and go deadlift goal was a 2 year goal to do on a deadlift bar at 150-160k bodyweight whilst on a bunch of gear.

Why would you want to use gear when you are making epic progress?

PS Can I see another Captain Crush video please? It's gripping entertainment. Embarassed

And yes, exceptional pressing. Might end up seeing some records broken by Jason in the near future.

The Warehouse in Leicester. You'll find Jay Pateman in there too. I used to train there most weekends until I moved to the Wirral.

I cook up a couple of pork steaks and put in a lunchbox to snack on these days. Usually spice them with chinese seasoning or something like that to keep it interesting.

Cheers. I'm better at repping stuff out than max singles for some reason. I think it's a mental thing but having strength endurance is something worth suffering with I guess haha

» Foam Rollin (Go to post)26-08-2014 @ 13:13
My missus has been using a free spinning rolling pin on my back, hamstrings and calves for the past 3 weeks and it's amazing. No more "build up" and I feel very fresh and loose when it comes to training days. Worked well in my last comp between events too.

Foam roll hips as much as possible. Takes the some pressure off the lower back muscles which get all messed up through training and put more pressure on the nerve.

Always hold it at the top for a few seconds. This will sort of simulate when you get the good lift call at a comp or not.

Welcome to the 100 club Happy

Where do you train mate?

Time to keep a more structured plan. Have finally moved into my own place with my girlfriend (she lifts) and settling into a nice routine. Use to keep a really healthy log but spent most of this year just getting back into training and competing. Set up my goals for the next 5 years and it starts here.

Goal 1 - Qualify for England's Strongest Man
Goal 2 - Place in top 3 of ESM
Goal 3 - Place in top 5 of UKSM

Lofty goals but I have good training partners in Simon Johnston will be training more with Graham Hicks and hopefully Paddy McMahon.

Taking a few weeks off strongman training to let a few post-comp injuries heal up and then my training plan begins.

01.09.14 - 05.10.14
06.10.14 - 09.11.14
10.11.14 - 21.12.14
22.12.14 - 25.01.14
26.10.14 - 01.03.14
02.03.14 - 05.04.14

This roughly 30 weeks of training to take me up to my first strongman comp of 2015 on the 7th March. Goals to hit in this period:

125kg Axle Press for 5 reps
150kg Log Press
320kg Deadlift
250kg squat for 5 reps
125kg Strict Press
440kg Yoke
200kg Front Squat

Diet wise I'm dialled in with plenty of oats, chicken, some red meat, veggies etc. Nothing too sweet or loaded with crap. Plenty of clean calories. Cutting out alcohol full stop. Not a big deal for me as I rarely drink anyway.

I know what needs to be done to get to a certain standard. Just have to get out there and do it.
» Stronger than you look ? (Go to post)25-08-2014 @ 11:22
Whenever I put 140kg on the bar people are looking at me expecting me to be squatting it. When I press it I get some nods of approval.

So bit like the same thing really I guess.

I shouldn't be so fat though haha
