Final date for confirming nominations and entries is the 23rd November.Any programme changes and a list of final entries will be available as soon as possible after this date.
Hotel rooms are now limited at the Village.Bournemouth has a large number of hotels and many offer rooms at reduced rates at this time of year.Early booking is advisable though, as pre xmas parties will be in full swing at this time and room availability may become more limited in the coming weeks.
The Championship Presentation Banquet is likely to get sold out soon so book early if you can.I do not want anyone to miss out and be disappointed.
Contact me directly if l can be of any help.

Paul

Well done Glen.Excellent performance with a bit left in the tank for another day.
It was certainly a full on weekend.Over 100 lifters across Saturday and Sunday.
The spirit and friendliness of everyone involved was terrific. This is usually the case in strength and powersports in my opinion.
Hope to get results up on www.bournemouthbarbell.co.uk and the BDFPA web site as soon as possible.
Lots of things to improve on with the running of the event:-ie Later weigh in for the heavyweights. We are going to run a referees course as soon as possible to give us the man/woman power to achieve this aim.
The big boys bench was absolutely terrific with several going 200kg raw.So much good stuff to report.Battles in nearly every weightclass being decided on the last deadlift.
Venue was so packed that lots of people were lined up looking through the windows from outside.Hope to hold our Southern Counties Divisional at Oakmead College in the new year.Lots more room.
Thankyou to everyone that came to the event. The lifters were very special.
More to follow.

Paul

Youngsters lifted well today in the morning session put on to relieve the pressure on Powerlifting numbers tomorrow.
Weightlifting this afternoon was excellent.A 57kg lady C&J 80KG.A Polish lifter in 94kg class was superb to watch.140KG SNATCH AND the best C@J l have ever seen in Bournemouth --183kg.He missed 188kg on his last attempt.
Louise Riddett ,a former BDFPA t2 Powerlifting Champion now turned Weightlifter totalled 190kg(82/108) at just 18 years of age,.Not fantastic yet but a good start,.A good pleasant day.Ready now for 60 plus lifters tomorrow.See you there.

Paul

Well done Fred Sterry. You are doing a great job really patiently.Richard Parker was down for another meeting at the University last Thursday and has really put himself out to ensure as many lifters as possible from across the Commonwealth get the chance to compete.
Places at the Village are now in very short supply. Please get accomodation organised as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
Thankyou to the lifters who have contacted me to confirm availability(or not) for the Commonwealth. This has been most helpful and important for the nominated reserves now being called up.
Ring Fred and see if he is trying to contact you if you feel you are in the frame for selection.
University media school hoping to stream the event over the internet.More information to follow.

Paul
