OH session 16/08/2012 Push press Bar x lots 40 x 5 60 x 3 70 x 2 80 x 1 85 x 1 90 x 4 (pb, was very close to locking out a fifth rep) 90 x 3 90 x 3 Savickas press (turns out this is f**king hard) football bar x 5 40 x 3 50 x 3 55 x 3 55 x 3 57.5 x 3 (pb) This turned out to be a great session today! PP was very good, defo got that 5th rep in me next time. I tried out the Savickas press for the first time today and I definitely think I will be doing it again. Now looking forward to deadlifts tomorrow.

Currently training training for powerlifting although tbh I just love lifting weights. I may potentially be looking to enter some novice strongman comps next year. I feel that over the course of the next year I can get my lifts to a good place and perhaps find the time to do some events training.

Hi guys, this is the start of my training log for at least the next year or so. I started training specifically to get stronger in November 2010 soon after I started university. I am currently focusing on powerlifting although I would like to get into strongman at some point. I'm hoping that by keeping a log I can look back on what works well for me and what doesn't which will help me with going forward in the future. Here are my current stats and targets for the next year: Squat 180 - ~200 Bench 127.5 - 140 Deadlift 215 - 227.5 Push press 100 - 110+ FTO 90 - 100+ Nutrition wise I currently eat 3 meals a day at 1000 Kcal each and then on top of that I have at least 1400 Kcal a day from milk. I find that this helps me train and recover well. Right then, here's Tuesday's session 14/08/2012 Squat 60 x 3 80 x 2 100 x 2 115 x 1 (belt) 130 x 1 (belt) 140 x 5 (belt, =pb) 140 x 5 (belt, =pb) 140 x 5 (belt, =pb) Snatch Bar x lots 40 x 3 45 x 2 50 x 1 55 x 1 60 x 1 65 x fail 65 x 1 (pb) Today's session was definitely a hard one. I had to dig deep to get those final few reps on the squats. I threw the snatch's in just to do something different. I hardly ever do any Olympic lifts but thought that I should do something lighter for my supplementary exercise as the squats had been very hard. All in all a good session. |
