The East Midlands Bench Press will be taking place at Hamiltons Gym in Colchester on January 6th. We should be live streaming the comp on our website as previously.

This can be used by any GBPF lifter as a qualifier for next year's British equipped or unequipped bench press in March.

For more details see our website http://www.hamiltonsfitness.co.uk/EMBench2013.htm

All the best,

Stuart Hamilton

LukeC said:In the GBPF the bar hits the chest, stops then a pause then the press command is given.

Current IPF (and therefore GBPF) rules say that once the bar is motionless on the chest the Chief referee will give the command "Press". There is no pause.

Thanks to everyone that helped to make the Anglian another successful meet, referees Jenny Hunter, Jackie Blasberry, Cathie Wass, Dave Tucker and Steve Walker, loaders Dan Wood, James Jeffries, Julian Massey, Barrie West, Dan Johnson, Mike King and Steve Dodd. Also a big thank you to the members of the Colchester Weightlifting Club and Hamiltons Gym that helped set up and take down on the day and of course to the lifters that came from all over the UK to lift.

We always have a great, if exhausting time, running these events.

The streaming for the day will stay archived on the comp website http://www.hamiltonsfitness.co.uk/AnglianPower2010.htm

Because bench pressing was their sport and they wanted to see the British Championships.

The British Bench was primarily a fund raiser for the GBPF. We had to cover our costs and pretty much everything else went to the sport.

The hours that the club members put in were all given freely.

The spectator entry for the East Midlands will be £5 for the day. If that's too much then watch it for free on the internet (I pay the costs for that out of my pocket)
