Was it some sort of record attempt? If it's a record you can ask for whatever the f**k you want.

I thought only the 2.5kg jumps counted towards the total. So he would have got the record at 315.5kg but only 315kg would have counted towards his total and he would have lost a place on bodyweight? Maybe I am thinking of WDFPF.

Looks like a handy place to train!
Who's going to the first to lift that yellow shear grabTongue
A lot of guys use duct tape mate, and then tacky over that. Can be a pain to get of when you lose the end but it hurts less than getting tacky off bare arms in my opinion

Cheers, yeah it is a great setup. Just a big barn and lots of toys to play with!

Im sure there will be many odd lifts with bits of farming equipment. Will invest in a roll of tape and save my arms a little.

I am mainly a powerlifter but as a club we are doing one strongman session a week to change up the training. Might give a strongman comp a go next year. The training is tough but enjoyable. Last night we did some yoke, db and stones.

Second session doing yoke. Form improved but still very very rough. Any tips and advice would be welcome.

Here are my second and thrid stone lifts. This was my first time attempting stones really didn't know what to expect. The stone is 130kg. Didn't get a video of first lift and it was the best of the three!

What way do you guys setup for stones in terms of your arms? I hadn't anything with me to put on arms so it was tacky straight to skin. Not pleasant! Will be better prepared next time.

06/06/2013 - Strongman Training

Started out with Yoke. This was my second time doing Yoke. Yoke is 210kg empty weight.

210kg x 15m
270kg x 15m
210kg x 30m (with turn)
290kg x 30m (with turn)
290kg x 30m (with turn)

After that we did DB Press.

50kg x 2
50kg x 2
60kg x 1
70kg x f

Very close with the 70kg db. Technique needs a lot of work!

Next was first ever attempt at atlas stones. Stone is 130kg. First attempt was actually my best attempt but didnt get video of it.

Here is my other two attempts.

Enjoying the strongman training as a change from the powerlifting training. One thing I am learning. Strongman is bloody tough but very enjoyable!

Hardcore squatting there with minimum rest not surprised you felt sick Happy

Working back from injury and trying to condition the legs a bit. Not a big weight but the reps area killer!
