I'm a bit thick but my mind is wide open. This involves a lot of drugs.

Still no plates. I might just do squat + bench on Friday and wait till next week to test the DL.

In the meantime, some dicking around:

HSPU practice

Snatch grip dl's, triples up to 100kg, nothing too heavy, focusing on technique.

Workout:
12 minute AMRAP of
10 hang clean high pulls (40kg)
10 push-press (40kg)
10 box jumps (32" or thereabouts)

5 rounds + 9 high-pulls. No rush, moderate pace, tidy jumps with a light landing.

Not disputing that.

Maybe that's all that matters for gym lifts? I may be wrong, but people b**ch the most about high squats when they're done in a competition where the rules of that competition don't seem to have been followed.

Out of competition, whether or not you "count" borderline squats and hitched deadlifts is really up to you.

Nice milestone, congrats.

PB Monday

(On secondary lifts, while waiting for some 20kg iron plates to arrive later this week so I can challenge my deadlift PB.)

Front squat
140x1
150x1 PB
160xlol
155xdumped

Strict press
60x1
70x1
80x1 PB
85xfailure
82.5xnope
82.5x1 PB

A bit of wishful thinking here and there, but some PB's in the pocket.

Pre-emptive retort: Yes, that is in fact a pressing PB. c**ts. Grin

Lulz. I'll take my self-gain over theirs any day of the week. Unless you meant t**ts like Bob Diamond and his ilk.

Andrew Davies: pushing Bob Dylan into early (???) retirement one song at a time.

Nice lifting, all.

Disconcerting soundtrack.

You know you guys are my favourite outside eye, it's just that I usually do my stuff in a corner while the Cross**tters are flailing around, so it's not easy to find a spot for both me and a camera.

I'm not quite sure what I'm doing here, but I'm enjoying it.

I'll give them a try John. Although my regular deads tend to be semi-stiff-leggies already.

Nick, that's how I'm doing them in my mind. I'll try to get an outside eye.
» Weakman training log (Go to post)19-07-2012 @ 21:47
I'm probably doing them wrong and rounding my back or something. I know how I SHOULD be doing them. I'll try to get some footage or ask someone to take a look. Any kind of deadlifting bothers my lower back these days anyway. Roll-Eyes

Damn right. I never got any better than 6a, partly because I creep up the damn things afraid I'll fall and get all tense and tired for nothing. Haven't climbed on top of anything other than the missus in years, though.

There seems to be absolutely f**k all lifting going on here. Is this by design?

Cycle 4 Week 3

* Deadlifts
146x5, 166x3, 184x10 b**chass 11th rep played hard to get. Back didn't feel safe. Canned it.

* Romanian DLs
105x10x2 Dislike these, can't get a good feel for them and they bother my back. Maybe I just need to do them more often.

* Snatch grip deadlifts, with straps
105x1+1+1+1+1 Weak as a kitten, uncomfortable, rubbish. Gonna have to change that if I ever want to snatch a measly 100kg.

* 6-pack special
Various forms of ab-core awesomeness
