Soundtrack Bolt Thrower Just an insanely good death metal band.

130 felt heavy and perhaps I should have dropped slightly more weight. Hamstrings still sore 2 days on. I’m hoping my weights will get back up to where they were last month pretty quickly now.

Also my fat gripz arrived this morning so going to put them through their paces tonight.

Soundtrack Flayed Disciple Never listened to them before but they announced Bloodstock so thought I would check them out. Decent thrashy death metal, will definitely watch them at Bloodstock.

Should not have attempted this workout. I have never quite got the hang of easing myself in slowly after some time off. The day before felt good so I hit this one at full steam and was just far to tired to do it. Feel terrible today, I am going to have to give myself a couple of days off.

One arm cable row

Sondtrack Eyehategod Grinding, sludgy doom. Really dark but motivating, some excellent riffs.

It felt hard but its been 3 weeks since I last trained so it was always going to. I am chuffed that all the weights were alright and that I haven’t taken too much of a loss in strength. I lost 3kg on holiday so it could have gone a lot worse. That box squats going to be really tough to get up to were I want it but its definitely a weak point at the moment so should really help both my squat and dead. This morning I feel tired but not destroyed. My hands still hurt though, its amazing how quick you start loosing your calluses.

I am debating going to bloodstock at the moment.

Ill be doing the comp raw mate. I've never lifted equipped and dont really want to start doing just yet.

Bloodstock just announced Machine Head as the final headliner. Its going to be awesome.

Right, i am back from holiday and with more fire in my belly than ever

I now have my sights firmly set on the GBPF North West championships on 2/12/2012

My overall target is GB qualification 510kg, remaining at a weight of 83kgs.

My individual targets are
Deadlift 4 x 4 x 192.5
Squat 4 x 4 x 145
Bench 4 x 4 x 120

I aim to make these targets by November and leave myself a month for lower reps.

Changes in training
1, Low box squat EVERY WEEK without fail to get my power out of the hole up.

2, Picking up some boxing sessions again to ensure i keep my weight down. I think about 1 per fortnight should do.

3, Taking out bent rows and adding in one arm cable rows on deadlift day, because i am not a great fan of heavy bent rows, i cheat too much.

I am not watching the England game tonight because i just want to get back down the gym. I will let you guys know how it goes.

Got some really fire in my belly after the competition. Weights felt light, really comfortable. Next comp is in December and i am determined to put up a qualifying total.

I am off on holiday for a couple of weeks now. Looking forward to it but i will come back to the gym with avengence.

JackRevans said:well done those are some really nice numbers. i see your bench has overtaken mine, however it leaves you with a 480kg total and thats the best total going

Cheers mate, yeah 480s a decent total. We'll be leaving it in our dust fairly soon though Happy

Had a great time at the NW unequipped on Sunday. Came 3rd out of 3 in my wieght class but just really enjoyed myself. Competing is one of the best decisions i have made.

Squat
1st Attempt - 140kg - I was nervous at first but this went up fairly easily
2nd Attempt - 150kg - Stuck a bit at the bottom but went up in the end
3rd Attempt - 155kg (failed) - Didnt even come close

Bench
1st Attempt - 120kg - Pretty straight forward
2nd Attempt - 125kg - This one was ground out. Took ages to lock out but the crowd got behind me brilliantly.
3rd Attempt - 127.5kg (failed) - Shouldnt really have tried but god loves a trier

Dead
1st Attempt - 190kg - Got told by the referee i had to have long socks on so quickly swapped with someone and hit the platform running. Luckily went up easily enough.
2nd Attempt - 200kg - No real worries here.
3rd Attempt - 205kg - Was abit slow off the ground but came up eventually. Once again great crowd helped.

Total 480 - Happy with this, wasnt a winning total but i never felt too far off the pace. I need to put in some solid training now. Target for next year is 510+.

And where in the Hudds do you train?

Only one workout left before the comp and that will be a fairly light one. Most of the prep is done now. Just got to turn up and do it.

Slugworth said:Whereabouts in huddersfield do you train mate, didn't know there were any gyms round here with a log!
