Find an album called "When the Kite String Pops". One of the greatest sludge albums of all time. And deffinatley one of the darkest.

Soundtrack Acid Bath Louisiana sludge, this is proper southern sludge and easily stands up with the likes of Down, Crowbar and Eyehategod.

Had a bit of a spot on the last few sets on the bench but I am putting that down to a spotter who doesn’t know the meaning of the words “don’t spot me unless im going to drop it”. Anyway I’m counting it. Making steady progress on the box squats, I probably could move through the weights faster but ill take it slow for now. Fat gripz are as affective as ever and my forearms hurt today.

Boxing 1.5 hours

I havent done cardio in about 3 months now but im pleased to say i have not lost that much fitness. Its a really hard session and about half the class are competitive ameture boxers but i am please to say that i kept up better than expected. Feeling it today though. Hopefully this will help me keep my weight down for December.

Ill have to check out the new Cattle Decaptiation. Havent quite managed to properly listen to all the new albums i have yet though. So much good music and so little time. Suppose its a good problem to have.

Soundtrack Job for a cowboy and annotations on an autopsy some old school deathcore eps, complete with breakdowns,
subsequent breakdowns from breakdowns, pig squeals and some insane drumming. I get alot of stick for liking these
bands but i just love it.

This workout went really well again, all weights felt really simple. Even though the 8 reps on the squat felt horrible i
never felt close to failure. I'll start going up in 2.5s now, hopefully be hitting PBs in the next couple of months. The
hipthrusts at the start were a warm up. I was told my glutes werent firing at the bottom of my squat and i should warm
the glutes and hips up before hand to avoid this. couldnt really tell if it helped but will continue.

Music Sick of it All was knackered after deadlift, felt I needed some old school hardcore attitude to get me through.

Well its all going to plan in this respect, dead is moving slowly back up to where it was and the box squat is feeling far more comfortable. Hopefully should start to tell on my regular squat.

Sound track Gojira The new album is more of the same. This is by no means a bad thing however it does lack for some of the really stand out tracks that have been on other albums.

Well, no increase yet again. It is not working and I am going to have to think about how to change it. Its strange because before I went on Holiday I was moving up through the weights quite nicely.
• Drop some of the volume on the bench, reverting to a 5x3, 3x2, 2x1 program
• I will drop floor press and opt instead for heavy strict press to bring some extra explosiveness from my shoulders
• Bang in some rotator cuff work
Lets hope it does the trick.

Not heard it yet, they are touring with Cerebral Bore and Job for a Cowboy later on this year. If anybody doesnt know Cerebral Bore they are well worth checking out.

Soundtrack Kreator New album is amazing. Hordes of Chaos was one of the best thrash albums of recent years and this one maybe just as good. I do love this band.

Trying something new with the squats. I know its my weakness so Ive got to work on getting them up to scratch. I figure if they are my biggest weakness they are what I have the most potential to add weight to.

Soundtrack Every time I die Canadian hardcore, nice light relief from a lot of the more doomy stuff ive been listening to recently.

Shame about the last set of deads because im sure I could have got 4x5 if my grip hadn’t gone. I think I will move up next time anyway.
All the rest went well, low box squats moving up nicely. I need some work on the thick grip chins though.

I havent yet mate no. I did really enjoy Decend into Depravity so i will have to give it a go. New Gojira is out next week though so that will take precedence.

I might be tempted to pop along to Maloneys at some point this weekend to see what theyve got there because im in Hudds. Wont be Saturday though cause ive got tickets for Europes Strongest Man in Leeds.

Good work on the deads by the way.

Not improved one bit from last time. I think my hopes of a quick comeback from holiday have been dashed. I may have catapulted myself into heavy workouts again too quickly. My nervous system has gone a bit bat s**t and muscular recovery is taking about 4 days (my hamstrings still hurt from Sunday). I guess ive just got to face up to the prospect of a long, slow climb back up to where I was, before I even consider starting to improve. The good point was the fat gripz were awesome

Bicep curl (w/ fat gripz)
25 x 6
35 x 6
35 x 6
35 x 6

Hammer curl (w/ fat gripz)
16 x 5
16 x 5
16 x 5

Even typing now my fingers and forearms are objecting. Looking forward to progressing with these and hopefully getting my grip to the next level.

Soundtrack Warbringer I really cant emphasise enough how good the new album is. It’s the best thrash album in years and years, better than Formation of Damnation (Testament) and World Painted Blood (Slayer). Probably on a par with Hordes of Chaos (Kreator).
