Rundown of my performance at Scottish unequipped:

Squat:
Opened 180, failed 190 which I made on 3rd attempt, just lack of composure there.

Bench
120 came up easy enough, 135 had to be retaken due to back cramping up on 2nd attempt which made my arse shoot up but camp up pretty easy, think 140 would have been there on a good day.

Deadlift
235 - so easy; 260 - came up pretty easy but lowered the bar very slowly as I had been pulled up by one of the judges for letting my 235 fall too quickly; 272.5 Failed at lockout and nearly passed out. All conventional pulls too


Was pretty aggressive calling my attempts seen as only needed a 450 total to qualify for British and figured that my shot at getting a 600+ total was dead in the water after my failed 190. Onwards and upwards to my strongman comp in 5 days, hopefully I'll place!

haha I got the name from being a fan of a guy on youtube called jailbaitwarrior when making this account but obviously it's a pretty horrendous name so I replaced jailbait with bacon due to it's overwhelming presence in my diet when I was playing around with keto dieting.

Took longer than I wanted to but overall pleased with this session.

Also another bit of training related news worth noting is that I've signed up for my second strongman competition, details below.

u105 SFN Expo Strongman - Northern Qualifier - 14th June 2014 - The Forge Gym Inverness

Events.

1. Axle Press (floor to overhead, last man standing)
Starting weight 90kgs (10kg increments), no pass on weight

2. Loading Medley (15 metre carry then load)

Cerberus Stone (80kg wedge), 120kg sandbag, 120kg beer keg
Time allowed: 75 seconds

3. Silver Dollar deadlift (last man standing)
Starting weight 250kgs (20kg increments), no pass on weight

4. 150kg Sandbag Carry for distance
15mtr turns, sandbag will be lifted off a standard beer keg

5. Car Deadlift Hold (last man standing,)

Fixed weight for time. No Straps.

6. Stones over Yoke
Arnold style stones over yoke for reps, 120kg, 140kg, 160kg
Time allowed: 75 seconds

Top 7 go through to finals at the SFN expo in Glasow in August.
