So arrived the night before took some scales down with me and after 6 litres of water during the drive I was 106.9kg Went down to the venue to see the kit and see afew people. Tried the claims and clothed weight 109.5kg stripped down and was 107.5 Returned to the hotel and my scales were 106.2kg. The scales I took matched calibrated ones that are used on a weekly basis not the best but knew I would need to sweat down to 104kg and just hope the scales either adjusted or wouldn't be a million miles away No bath in the hotel so created makeshift sauna and was in and out most of the night. Went to bed 105kg woke up in morning at 104kg Got to the venue for 9 and weighed in at 104.1kg Event 1 Max Log Warms ups felt fine 110kg good lift 120kg good lift - best 120 ive done 130kg fail so close on the press 3rd place Event 2 350kg into 140kg fengals finger 41.9 seconds to complete this I had to stop after the first clean on the finger as the spotter didn't move the tyre straight away. 0.5 of a second behind 3rd place on this although my time didn't get amended due to the cock up 4th place Event 3 Conans wheel 260kg Managed just over 3 revolutions on this. Think my dehydration hindered me abit on this event as was on verge of passing out from 2 revolutions 4th place Event 4 Deadlift medley 240kg axle deadliuft from floor - good lift FAILED the 260 14inch deadlift Not good and deadlift is a massive focal point for the winter last place Event 5 Arm over Arm into backwards sled drag Think the weight was 200kg 41 seconds and 4th place Event 6 140kg stone over yoke Head to Head with Ryan who was in 3rd - was too far away points wise to catch him although was looking forward to this 3 reps although failed 2 of the reps just at the bar height Overall an improvement from last year although really need to work on my deadlift to be a contender next year Would like to say it was a great comp put on by Simon and Adam and will definatley be doing the naturals next year | |||
