i've watched a lot of old videos lately and loved the geoff capes/jon pall rivalry. tense stuff! either geoff capes 83/85 or big z in 2009, phenomenal strength.

tbh it was more waiting around than travelling, 40 mins between buses was horrid this morning. ...made a little easier on the way home thanks to the pubs being open, nothing like a post workout meal than a london pride and a cheeky packed lunch.

thanks jt, and to john, skip and flash for helping me on my first go at strongman gear. will see you all again next week, really enojoyed myself.

my thor wraps were tough at first. whether i just got used to it or the material loosened up after a while, it just takes a good few wrap sessions to get used to em.

There are indeed people training mate.
I should think me or skip could pick you up from somewhere on the way. We come from Loughborough so if you could get to Loughborough train station for about 8:40 that could be easier. It's just the other way to come all the way to notts

cheers for the offer mate, but getting to Loughborough train station will still take me around an hour and 45 mins apparently. it's cool though, i'll just stick to my original plan and bring a book for the wait lol. cheers though.

newbie looking at his first couldron sesh on saturday (if it's on), any boys live or drive near/through nottingham i can catch a lift with? i'll contribute to petrol obv, otherwise i've got 1 hour 53 minutes of travelling time (according to google maps). not a massive problem if not, tbh it's mainly waiting time as the buses are fairly scarce apparently. cheers in advance.

Weightlifters only do Sn and Cjerk in competition, yet they train a lot of ither lifts too...
Like Martin says, you train to get stronger. You then apply that strength in competition. If you have a reason to train TNG deads, crack on.

i thought the point of deadlifts was lifting a dead weight. if it's getting any sort of bounce, it won't be allowed in competition so i don't see the point of touch and go.
