Would be good to see these two at the night of the deadlift thingy.

It wasn't.

With regards to Pat Mendes - Surely his body has adapted to that stress through the years of training? If he's always squatted to that depth then his joints and ligaments will have strengthened sufficiently to cope with the stress?

Extremely impressive. He's got 2 years on the 2 guys that placed above him aswell.

His lockout strength is awesome considering the ROM he has deadlifting conventional.

Needs to develop an efficient technique first bro

At the moment, just a belt for squat, I will be using a 2-ply Katana for bench and, if I'm deadlifting equipped, an old-style Boss, a couple of sizes too large. I'm only really interested in the tightness of the straps, rather than the fit around my hips and thighs.

Have you ever tried a tight pair of briefs underneath a loose suit? When i used to wear multiply i found the briefs gave a pop of the floor to add to the straps support..

In my opinion it's been the most competitive weight class in the BDFPA for a number of years. Would be awesome to see at least half a dozen guys totalling 640+, with Paul in the mix as well would be even better. Now I must improve my s**t squat!

It does seem that way, even in equipment its competitive. I'll be in the 90's next year for sure.

buzz said:Ok, so maybe King squat, deadlift, and bench shirt, single ply?

Frio - aye, briefs are generally ok, at least where suits/equipment is allowed. Is it the Pro Briefs you mean?

Luke - more feedback the better, didn't think you were nagging at all!

Yeh the Pro briefs. Best piece of equipment imo, good for high rep squats, get a good pop out of the bottom when deadlifting, good longevity. If they're allowed in strongman then i'd go with those over a single ply suit, from experience with both types of equipment.

Buzz would have you considered stocking metals cheapest pair of briefs? They are the best briefs i've used and last longer then a single ply suit..good for training etc..although as you're doing this from a strongman point of view im not sure if they are allowed in strongman comps?

Tom, you haven't mentioned anything about suit slippers...i take it you don't own a pair? If you haven't you definately should. I could put on a suit, equivalent to a Titan size 36, by myself weighing ~85kg when i wore slippers. It took a long time but i didn't have to ask anyone for help.

Do you not wear briefs under the suit? Giving away a few kilo's to the opposition...
