Things are mostly good mate, well training is going well anyway!Tongue

I am planning on doing the IAWA comps and some U105s. It would be good if there can be a Northern U105s, Southern U105s, Scottish U105s then the British. I have the venue in the North West if there is the interest and support.

I would love to do the Sugden comp, it would be great to compete with all you guys, but it clashes with the IAWA Stone Lifting comp' and I am already committed to that. Unbelievable - there are never any comps in Feb then two on the same bloody day! It wouldn't surprise me if the BDFPA NW qualifier was the same day too. Roll-Eyes

I'm lifting at the Lancaster Uni powerlifting meet as a guest a week on Sun so will pay a visit to the dungeon shortly after that.Cool

Your technique has come on a lot since the last time I saw you log press, keep it going and make sure you video the 130kg when you get it mate, will be good to see.

Yeah, I read the report on the team comp' I think, sounded a good do. No good for me as I'm only about 1/8 Scottish, though I do have ginger hair - does that not count?Wink

Hopefully get up to watch if its not too remote and Brian (and anyone else I know) is competing.

Whats the comp plans for next year mate? Will you do Fitlike if they do it again?

Aye man, Plan is hopefully Sugden comp, Fitlike, 105's, team comp, Orkney, Dumfries. Maybe Fraserburgh and Northumberlands, and if I get the pipe out UK qualifiers and Fife comp.

Good to see you're fully back on the competition trail Brian.

What is the team comp'. If its on Riot Training I ca't log on there, can't for the life of me remember my user name and password! Took me ages to remember what is was on here.Roll-Eyes

Not knocking you mate, you are a novice and can easily go under 90kg so its fair enough. I would have gone for the U90s as well, the difference seems too large between the cats to me but maybe I just think that as I would be on the cusp of the 90s too. U90s log = 8+ reps, O90s = no reps. U90s deadlift 15+ reps, O90s = 0-1 reps, stone load U90s = 8+ reps, O90s = 1(?) rep. Yoke U90s = sprint, O90s = might not finish. Confused

Ah crap, just realised this clashes with the proposed date for the IAWA Stone Lfting comp'.Roll-Eyes

You would piss those events at under 90kg Jamie.

I'm a definate barring serious injury etc. Events look solid, nice classic feel to them, personally I would prefer the deadlift to be on an axle, as it is strongman not powerlifting, but at least on an oly bar it is one event everyone can train it with no disadvantage I guess.

Tenner entry is perfectly reasonable. I don't really get the t-shirt thing and would rather the money was
spent on putting on a good comp and giving the winner a cool prize (like my Fitlike sword Happy ). That said the t-shirt I got at the IAWA Sussex comp is nice and has survived many washes! Not a priority IMO though.

Thanks for the continuous up-dates guys, was great to follow the comp' and i'm pleased Mariuz won his 5th title.

Joni, when you say Big Z and the rest were not invited could they not have qualified the same as everyone else?

Well done JC, awesome stuff. You can always come over to Mark Haydock's place and practice your tyre flipping (and pick up your parcel shelf at the same time!). See you soon mate.
