Nice one Mark, cheers.

I am looking forward to it too Jonny, ordered trophies for top three and "man of the match" today, will probably get another couple for the other three qualifying spots, everyone else might have to settle for a handshake and a good day out.

Also wrote the risk assesments for each event, on paper surprisingly little risk really - nobody had better get injured now! Wink

Thanks to Mark Clegg for loan of the yoke and to Guy for sorting the wheels which will allow those events to go to head to head, and to Millsy for the other stuff!

Might set-up some mini hurdles for JC, slow the bugger down a bit! I'd like to rig it so JC and Millsy are drawn against each other but am far too honest for that (unless money does actually change hands of course Joni).

18 in now, I'll keep taking entries up to the end of Feb...

Hi Guy, I'll PM you about the axles, will still be 2" whatever happens and close to identical and equal in weight. The yokes are identical, the David Horne 6ft Yoke:

That sounds fair Rob, my back squat 1RM was belt only, never tried a 1RM with wraps - just did a couple of sets for reps a couple of times. It did make a big difference, I repped my 1RM 4 times with them on, they were not modern wraps and not too tight.

To make sure the day runs at a decent pace and to add a bit more excitement the axle deadlift and yoke will now be head-to-head events. I will confirm axle height soon but suggest training it from regular olympic plate height as that may well be how it ends up.

I have a 2" straight cable attachement bar and a 2" loading pin from them, both good quality and good service when ordering.Happy

Now then lads, I have been registering my front squat PBs as I have working them a little bit lately, but I do this in an arms crossed bodybuilder style - is this legal for the PB chart? Also I used my powerlifting belt for fronites for the first time (not sure how much it helped), is this okay? And finally, not that I've ever tried them on fronties and only twice on back squats, are knee wraps allowed?

Cheers.

International All-Round Weightlifting Association

I haven't powerlifted with them as last year it was cancelled due to the host building closing down. Last year the Strongman Division was created by guys who had previously lifted with the BDFPA but wanted a more supportive environment for strongman comps. This is a good opportunity for drug-free lifters to compete in strongman on a level playing field. I will hopefully be competing in all the strongman division events this year, the first being the Stone Lifting comp in March.

Most of the comps they run are "odd lifts" and "old time" lifts, if you look at the list of records you'll see just how many there are, they also include olympic lifts.

Not saying anyone fed is better than another as I have only lifted with BDFPA so far but they do test at the regional qualifiers, I have been tested at the North West myself.

Also, IAWA allow knee wraps on the squat, otherwise unequipped.
