macroth said:Running sprintervals this evening (that's the plan, at least Roll-Eyes )

A random Facebook post got me thinking again about the 1 mile/1RM deadlift challenge (5:00/500lb, 6:00/600lb...). The closest I've been is in December 2019, with a 6' mile (actually done in July, but also estimated based on a 7k race in 12/19) and 560lb DL. At this point in my life a 5' mile sounds unlikely if I keep lifting at all, but maybe I could aim for 5:30/550lb? There's the mile/squat version, obviously, but that's out of the question Grin

Running sprints, bring on the DOMs! The 1 mile/1RM thing looks like a good challenge, I don't think I could have done a 6:30 mile when I could dead 650lbs though and I'm sure the ratios get worse for me after that.

That was tough. After the last week the legs were unsurprisingly feeling it right from the start, I very nearly dropped the pace a couple of times and at some points it felt like I just couldn't carry on. Rest started at 4 minutes for the first couple and drifted up to about 8 for the last couple. CV was tough, but it was the legs that were the weakest link today. What a moaning bas***d I am Grin Week 21 DONE!!!!!!

And damn am I getting nervous! One week to get through then the taper, I am tempted to do a 1500 on `Sunday to hopefully boost my confidence. I just don't want to miss the 4x3 though I guess I could do the 1500 then 3x3.

I thought that when I did my 2k, but afterwards there was NO WAY I would have been able to train properly. A max 1500 would be a good replacement session and valuable in the build up I think.

I was a touch cautious of hitting low 1:28 from the start, but it looks like jt was right again! Last set I was flat out heading at 1:28 pace and sped up the SR for the last 10s, managed to drop it to 1:25 briefly, very worth while doing:

I've noticed on the 'easy' weeks I sometimes have a couple of high HR sessions. Still got a decent session in.
