I usually do these before Squats and it made a difference, just felt a bit more f**ked throughout. Forearm tendons were giving me quite a bit of pain by the end of tonight for the first time in a while. Well pleased with the Squats tonight, thought I might fail the set going in to it, disappointed with the deads but I was just tired for them. | |||

A lot better than last week. Push Press from Rack 80x5 80x5 80x5 100x3 110x1 120x1 130x1 140xff 140xff 140xff I managed to lock out my left arm on one of these, but couldn't lock my other arm out. Right until the last rep I thought I was going to get it, they were really close. Think I'll drop back to some trebles on 130 for a week or two then have another crack. Pressups x 20 with 20kg on my back Easy, but pretty good on the tri's Front raise with a 25kg plate, side raises with 10kg plates. x10x10 x10x10 x10x10 Cuffs, internal, external x20x20 x20x20 x20x20 High Pulls x20 x20 x20 x10 barbell curls Done. Good session tonight, didn't feel too good going into the session, but put up some decent numbers. But as you bring up both in the session, doing deads after squats seems fine. If anything it cuts down on warm ups for the deads. (This maybe different for much stronger people though) What baffles me is this group of old powerlifters that train at my gym (all used to compete and still lift fairly big) they often do squats AFTER deadlifts. Now that is just mental. It's the opposite for me, if I hammer squats that's me done for the day, but if I hammer deads I can squat after. | |||

5 - 8, if I get less than about 7 it effects how I train. I work from home a lot of the time though so I can sometimes get my head down for an hour during the day which can help a lot. | |||

Tuesday 02/10/12 Another fun session at the Junction with Doddy Log, all from the floor 35x10 35x10 70x5 90x3 90x3 100x1 110x4 tried for 5 but my shoulders and triceps were feeling fried from last nights session. Strict Log, one clean 100x3 100x2 100x3 100x2 Frame Lift 85x10 165x3 205x1 245x1 265x1 275x1 280x1 - pb Not done these before, the last couple were very hard, pleased I got the 280. It took forever to get off the floor and was a slow pull all the way up. Loading from 5m to 48"(ish) 100kg sack, 100kg sack 80kg barrel, 100kg barrel, 100kg sack, 100kg sack - 30 seconds 80kg barrel, 100kg barrel, 100kg sack, 100kg sack - 24 seconds Felt great on these, puffed out after each one but they all flew up. Kettlebell swings 24kgx12 Felt a twinge in my tricep, think it was from the frame lifts, stopped there. Rotator Cuffs Cable Internal Rotation, then Cable External Rotation, then High Pulls x20x20x20 x20x20x20 x20x20x20 High pulls x20 x20 Dumbbell Curls x20 x20 x20 Done. | |||

I'll get a 300 pull using bands in the next couple of weeks I think, but they make it a LOT easier off the floor which gives you more momentum throughout the lift. It's going to be interesting going back to normal deads in a few weeks time to see how much it has helped as I haven't done any normal ones for a month or so, hopefully it's helped my lockouts a lot which is where I have problems. To be honest I've been stuck at 270 for about 10 months now so I would be very happy with 280. 300 is a big target for me but I don't think I'll get it for a couple of years but we'll see! | |||
