Huge improvement mate, that 295 looked easy. Great pull.

Back to Loughborough 30th November for the weekend hopefully so make sure you keep yourself available for some training!
» Squatting (Go to post)26-10-2012 @ 19:38
When you're training in the gym why not train the weak areas? This should strengthen your 'easier' style come competition day or 1rm testing?

My squat is s**t mind you....

Could always do 1 day of each?

I've got it.

Picked up an ear infection snorkelling while travelling and now i've constantly got a ringing left ear. It's like I've just come home from a gig or night out.

Only notice it when it's quiet and i become aware of it.

Bit s**t though.....!

Hamstring ok?

No chance you'd get 20kg out of wraps with your stance Wink
» Breakfast is the most important meal of the day (Go to post)05-09-2012 @ 15:03
I remember reading something by John Keifer where he sited some studies done on school children and those that waited until Lunchtime to eat were more alert and performed better during the day.

Obviously he's very pro-fasting though...

I don't think it's an issue hitting your macros within a 6-8 hour feeding window. I don't see how someone couldn't get whatever carbs/proteins/fats that they wanted in 3-4 meals if they were sensible about food choices or chucked in a shake if they were a bigger guy.

As much as this is 'bro science' surely we aren't 'supposed' to get out of bed and eat straight away? All other animals have to wake up then go and find food so I suppose we could argue we're not 'programmed' to eat until mid way through the day through til before going to sleep? Just a thought.

I feel great skipping breakfast, don't think it's necessary at all.

upper back, definately!

I just think lots of people struggle to maintain a sound lower back position. A huge rounding of the lower back isn't good news and this is where i've seen lots of people (myself included) develop lockout problems.

I'm not saying your back won't round. we aren't talking clean pulls here...

I just thinking IMPROVING technique from the bottom helps your position at the top, simple as.

I used to have exactly the same thing and found it was totally technical.

It's 'easy' to pull a weight fast to above your knee if your back rounds lots, but then you're in a terrible position to finish the lift.

I found being tighter and more patient at the beginning of the pull allowed me to finish much stronger above my knee.
