So that you dont just lift it with all lower back. Ideally you want your legs to drive it through at the beginning, then rely on your back then, and finish it with grip and traps! By the way not trying to be a know it all, just trying yo get you to the magical 300kg pal! Grin

I need someone's phone number who can explain to a complete tourist where the f**k this place is exactly.
I will be taking the blackpool north line from picadilly in central manchester, and get off at ADLINGTON of some kind.

Aww man, sub par training.

Very stiff shoulders so had trouble both cleaning and pressing.

Worked up to a couple at 60k, failed on the clean at 70k a couple of times, shoulder was just too stiff to explode, form was off all-over.

shall just do some prehab/rehab band work till the comp.

I reckon I had 155 in me today, save that for the comp + decent bar and good atmosphere = explosions of power.

the funny thing with you guys here I've noticed that you mostly train quite far away from your PBs unless you're training singles on the day, it's more about work rather than busting PBs. With me I'm always within 90% or it's a failed workout pretty much.

Hahaha, thanks a lot littler (has anyone called you litter? I typo'd to that).
what I meant was what's a good standard for c&j to aspire to as a beginner, like sq/dl I reckon 2x bodyweight is good, and bench 1.5x bodyweight is also strong.

Really looking forward to the comp and meeting you all!

you're 77kg and c&j 105-110kg in training
I'm 68-69 and did 75kg for the first time ever properly clean and jerking, sort of ( I push pressed and s**t ), is this good? I'm coming to the push n pull meet, if I can get 80-85kg I will be pleased with myself, is this a good standard for a beginner to the olympic lifts?

good training session, learning to clean and jerk, im a natural.

clean and push press
various singles up to 70kg, 75kg was nearly there, needed to jerk rather than push press
hit myself on the chin with one of the 50kg, aieee. Joni's fault.

Then did 2x5 clean and jerk with 50kg.

Hey fellas,
I think I'll come to this one!
My first comp.

Will aim for bw clean and press (70kg), and 2x bw deadlift.
If I get these I'll be happy, can probably DL more but see how we go!
Should be fun.
Anyone going from central manc?
