» Elbow area injury help identifying please (Go to post)24-02-2012 @ 11:45
Sounds like what I've been suffering from

All pressing was fine but curls or heavy low-pulley rows hurt; a lot!

Went to see the osteopath yesterday and he said that it's probably a little bit of bursitis still but also that a few ligaments had shifted so he spent 10mins working on it to try and click everything back into place

Followed that up with 20mins of acupuncture and then another 10mins of clicking and cracking; it's sorted now (I think)!

Doesn't hurt as much and movement is a lot more freer; just came out sweating and fairly pasty white yesterday haha Grin

Some of these: https://www.strengthshop.co.uk/sleeves-wraps-straps/elbow-sleeves/t...

And one of these to play with at the gym: https://www.strengthshop.co.uk/equipment-and-bars/strongman-equipme... Grin

Who's got the elbow sleeves? How do you find them?

I've got bursitis on my right elbow currently; it's fine on pressing exercises but find it painful on deads, lat pulldowns and bicep curls etc... It seems to be the compression of the elbow that hurts; not the extension

Using Vulcan neoprene elbow sleeves currently as had them from my rugby days but they're thin and only really keep my elbows warm. The Thor ones look fairly meaty!

I managed to tear both mine slightly doing overhead heavy lock-outs (I think)

They've not been right since around April 2011 but they're currently getting a lot better and my overhead and bench weights are going up nicely Wink

I've been going to the Osteo when I feel necessary but every week to begin with; numerous exercises to do and acupuncture to boot as well.

I've found that cable cross-overs (gay I know) Tongue have helped a lot though as they've taken the direct strain off the shoulders etc... Also facing into shoulder press machines instead of outwards as per the norm has helped a lot!

» Using chalk? Liquid or the normal stuff (Go to post)21-02-2012 @ 18:41
Block chalk for me; dont like the liquid stuff due to the damage caused and also the time you need to hang around for it to dry...

Plus the cloud of magnesium carbonate in the air when you're walking to the lift always makes for an impressive photo haha Tongue Grin

Argh hope it's not that bad!

Already tried the menthol crystals thanks; yeah they work but not brilliantly!

It does get better but then it comes back; however all most everyone in the immediate families has had a cold or sinusitis over Christmas etc so it's probably still lingering!

Will see how it goes and if it's still crappy I'll seek the Doc's advice!

Anyone suffer from it/had it recently etc...?

How did you get it sorted?

I've been suffering with it since just before Christmas ( sinuses blocked/ears bunged up etc...). It's a pain for a week then it disappears and I feel 100% better; then 2-3 weeks later it'll come back and do my head in (literally)!

Tried decongestants but they knock me sick; steam works well but doesn't last very long!

It's affecting my lifting(squats and deadlifts really suffer with holding breath/pressure build up in the head etc...) but other lifts are fine; overhead work is flying as is bench etc...

HELP! Angry

Unhappy Unhappy Unhappy

No go for me again... This sinusitis isn't shifting as quickly as I'd hoped

Managed my 1st 100kg strict press on the axle tonight and 2 push-preses at 120kg but at a ost; nearly keeled over and now my heads spinning beyond belief...

No playing out this weekend and early nights Angry
