If someone else does it he'll just beat it as he always seems to do... Eek Cool

With me I don't aim to train grip; it just happens!

I pinch grip all the plates I use and also when taking them off various bars etc... Just worked up to pinch gripping to 20kg plates which proves to be fairly hard work but it eventually happened

Same with using/moving dumbbells around; I try not to use their handles but pinch grip the plates at the ends etc...

Deffo agree with the pinch gripping of plates; thats a very good grip trainer indeed!

Loading the bar and doing some one handed lifts will always help grip (i.e. start with one finger; then two and so on)

Scottish said:I have these sleeves both for elbows and knees, get a bit out of them feel very good moving but can't stand the elbow sleeves on all the time I have to take mine off between sets or my forearms go numb and biceps pump up quick!

I found that on Friday night; however just rolled mine own onto my forearms and I was fine...

Very impressed with them though

Cheers for that...

Doing all those already as my aim recently has been to strict press 100kg while I've recently archived on both an only barbell and the axle and bench 160kg which I've done.

Just now trying to surpass these and get back into the swing of things with the log...

Working more front squats as well to help with the log!

What exercises will help to get more weight on the log overhead and also are there any exercises to help with the cleans or is it just a case of keep training the log?

Had a really good session on the new log from JT last night including 2 reps at 120kg but the cleans took a lot out of me!

I dropped back and did 3 x 5 at 85kg for reps and they really got me blowing...

Did some seated dumbbell presses afterwards and worked up to the 110lbs for a solid 6 reps but would like to see what you folk do as well to help with the log overhead?

What shoulder routines do you do when you train the log?

» Play time tonight thanks to JT (Go to post)25-02-2012 @ 14:24
Haha well I'll just leave it at 40kg...

If it's heavier than that's fine as it means I'm lifting more than I know Grin

Well after the pasty faced sweats and more or less crying at the osteo yesterday as he was clicking & cracking my elbow back into its right position training tonight has gone great

Very little pain with the elbow and it feels fine afterwards as well (usually gets stiff and seizes a little etc...)

Fingers crossed!

His 40kg trainer log landed this afternoon so I had to take it down to the gym for a play Tongue

Managed 3 5's (1 clean and then presses) at 100kg and a double at 120kg tonight; first time I've done the log in close to 4 years so very happy Grin Just need to work on my cleaning technique now...

Tried the THOR double ply elbow sleeves from Strengthshop as well; god damn they're tight! Could feel my hands tingling haha...

They loosened off a little but they're very good indeed; works well on the dumbbell presses I did after the log!

Cheers JT; cant recommend the log and his service enough Cool

I've been using Vulkan elbow sleeves; offer very little support but keep the joint warm so theyre recommended!

Osteo also said yesterday that 3mins with your elbow under a hot shower and 1 min under cold x3 is a good routine as is icing before bed etc...
