JC said: Welcome Stephen & nice session mate Yoke and farmers look very good Look forward to seeing you progress mate. You workout with Stevie? How come no tacky for stones? Cheers JC, I've trained with Stevie a few times on the lead up to the scottish u105's and will train events with him again soon. I didn't use any tacky on the stones cause there not that heavy, plus think I'll save the tacky for the comps.

Good stuff JC. Great vid. If you hand gripper shoes(rock climbing ones)I'm sure you would have done better on the truck pull and from the vid you can see the problem with the 110 axel was that your belt was too low making the second part harder plus if you had a powerbelly you can rest the axel even higher. Told you you'd get double figures on the van deadlift!

Stevie said: Cheers Stephen, I do not know how you get the energy to do it yourself, I just could'nt, IAM TOO LAZY. Hopefully when the guys start there season I can join in, it would be cool if you came as well, because you would come on like crazy, what comps are you doing next? The only fright I will give anybody at my next comp is how CRAP AND UGLY I really AM. I'll definetly head up to Dumbarton for events, just give me a shout. I was going to do the dumfries novice but think I'll have to leave it as after doing the uksc comp(even though I got hammered)it's not the done thing to take a step back into the novice comps, So I'll need to wait untill next year and see what strongman comps i can do? At least it'll give me sometime to get better at the events. I might do the scottish bench champs next month and I'LL do the scottish seniors in nov. Hey don't sell yourself short, your one strong f**ker and once you get abit of experience under your belt and sort your injuries I'm certain you'll be very competitive.

Stevie said: Thing said: your a strong dude stevie, and you are hitting some heavy heavy numbers. what comp do you have in mind next or are you just going to get a good ammount of strongman training in? Cheers Thing, I the Strongman training has not been going well lately, every time I go my training partner does not turn up, or does not want to do anything, so I am in a catch22 situation, I am not training strongman hardly at all right now, and I want too, but I do not have the motiviation to do it myself, I am motivated when I get there and either no one's there, or they can't be arsed doing anything, so it is eating into my energy, it is really bugging me. It is very hard for me too really push myself on anything at the moment, especially bench and incline, when know ones there to spot you, because I do not want a 200KG+ bench pinning me to the bench, if I am just there myself, and same with Incline and squats, and getting the stones ready, or building the Yolk, or setting the farmers up and loading unloading all the weights on and off, it is just too draining to do it myself, I am a wee bit pissed off as you can imagine, I just wish I could train with someone who has the motivation and drive, to want to train strongman, for I know I would come on leaps and bounds, but I am just staggnating at the moment and actually going backwards, so the comps will have too wait, until I try and sort this out, because it is just deppressing, I just wish someone in Glasgow, or Dumbarton where I train strongman, would let me join in, but I can't find anybody. But saying that if a comp comes up, I will probably do it anyway, even though I am doing virtually no heavy event training, so another beating is waiting for the weeman. It's hard training yourself, alot of the time I just train by myself also and it's very hard to push yourself and if you need a spotter your screwed . I know what you mean about having to set everything up yourself, I have to drag everything out of the shed for strongman training then dismantle everything and put it all back, it's a workout in it's self . I always enjoy going and training with other groups for the trash talk and I always learn alot off everyone. Once you start training with the guys from dumbarton regular I bet you'll progress like crazy and I can see you giving alot of guys a fright at next years comps. Trainings looking solid recently!

Hi Stevie good meeting you again today. Aye I was itching to have ago, even brought my kit bag just incase but wouldn't have been fair to leave the girl with the two kids . The strongman comp started later than I thought so I just caught the deadlifts, upto your 250kg (which looked easy ) and then had to head . Also remember I came last at the uk scottish but it was great fun and I got to pull a truck . Sounds like you done well, pb's are what it's all about! How'd you place overall? Hope the injury's held out too.
