cheers steven when you comming through to the craft to play sundays are the bo***cks right now

Planning to come through a few times during the winter but got a couple of powerlifting comps to do 1st, too hard to train for powerlifting and strongman at the same time. I might give the scottish qualifier ago in feb for some more experience and i'll be doing the u105's and the uk's scottish qualifier for sure, if I can con/bribe a heavy weight into pairing up with me I'd like to do your team comp also, with all that in mind I better get alot of event training in this winter. Quality lifting. Good luck for 4 nations. One of my training partners Monica Porter will be lifting there. Under 2 weeks to go!!!

Thanks Iain, seen some of Monica's results, she's one very strong lady. Eek I presume you train with John Porter also, he's a very strong guy too! . Good training partners are the key to getting better as you can feed off each others success and you don't get much better than yours. Cool

Solid. Are you lifting convo these days??

Yeah lifting conventional now but think doing sumo for abit has really taught me to use my legs more as before I was all back. I don't have my feet in narrow like alot of conventional pullers though, I place them about shoulder width apart which feels more comfortable for me.

Cheers Joni and Brian, Feeling very comfortable with deadlifting from the floor these days, experimented abit with different styles, grip and foot placement and been workin hard on technique so things are looking good for a decent comp pb deadlift before year end. Grin

If you nail all the comps next year how you going to fit training in between them all? Tongue Why not nail 1 more novice, U105's and maybe an open (team comp is classed as open level I think??). Although you could just stick to the plan and be a comp junky and nail everything! Eek Tongue

Sounds like a right clown! I went to a physio last year for a few issues and she seemed to know her stuff, well she sorted me out anyway in a couple of sessions. Unlike most people she knew abit about strength training and how to train properly. I'll pm you her number if you like she's in Ardrossan which isn't too far from Glasgow?
