Bring it my man!!! Grin I think stones would be close, yoke I'd take, and log is yours. 1-1 and stones decider. Sounds like a nice wintery challenge! Grin

Training in rain over winter will be s**te man. At the unit we now have 'heating' so it's all biceps and shades Cool

It's on! Although don't know when Confused I'll need to get a few events sessions in 1st.Roll-Eyes . What's some of your weaker events by the way? Just out of interest of course Tongue Grin .

Training tonight:

EQ SQUAT:
20x8 (straps down from here)
70x5
120x5
170x3
210x1 (straps down & knee wraps)
230x3 (straps up & knee wraps from here)
235x3

Squats felt strong and feeling confident with them again. Grin

EQ BENCH PRESS:
20x10
70x5
100x5
130x1
150x3 (shirt on from here)
160x3
165x3

Put my new 42 katana on but had to take it straight back off as it's abit tight,
think I'll need abit of time in it to break it in and stretch it out some and with
the seniors less than 2weeks away I thought it best to just put my old 44 fury on
which felt like a loose t-shirt in comparison. Grin

Also need to forget about lifting in the 90's for the seniors as weighed in at 94.7kg
at the gym tonight, bit fat but feeling strong so f**k it 100kg class again! Maybe for
good Roll-Eyes Confused

Looking good on the stones bud, might need to re-think this head to head and add in some of your weaker events. Tongue

Cheers, SM on hold untill I get the seniors out of the way then I'll try getting to Dumbarton to train with Robocop and the other loonies, I'll also need to get through to unit20 at some point as I think I've only been once this year Confused and Brian and I have a head to head with the stones to get sorted, oh and and with the log.....and f**k it with the yoke too as I'm sick of him kicking my ass with the yoke Grin . Might take some of my kit to the gym also as can't be arsed training out in the rain. Angry

Solid performance Stephen, got to be happy with that. Any early crack pipe goals for the seniors??

Thanks Brian, yup i'm pleased as there's definetly more there. Going to nail the british qualifying total of 690kg at the seniors, really looking forward to it as there's a few lifters in the 90's who are all very close to each other so should be a good battle plus my training partner and I have got a grudge match with two lifters from another club, the last time we all met it came down to body weight for 1st&2nd and 3rd&4th place. Cool Grin

Great lifting mate, looks like you did very well. Quality squat especially Happy

Thanks JC, really needed a confidence booster with the squats as haven't been that confident squatting all year after I hurt my lower back and the team coach and everyone else said that all my squats looked like openers so i'll push it abit at the seniors, got a long term goal of a triple body weight squat. Cool

Well had a great weekend at the 4nations, lots of great lifting, eating and drinking alot Grin , Thanks to everyone involved for organising a fantastic comp.
Weighed in at a portly 93.3kg and didn't start lifting untill early afternoon as the lighter women and men went first.

SQUAT:
Opener- 230kg Passed
2nd - 245kg Passed
3rd - 252.5kg Passed

All the squats felt easy and in hindsight should have went heavier and pushed it abit.

Bench press:
Opener- 160 Passed
2nd - 170 Failed . Wasn't concentrating and messed it up, think I failed on uneven lock out. Confused
3rd - 170 Passed

Benching felt good if I hadn't failed the 2nd attempt I was going to go for 177.5/180kg, another day Happy .

Deadlift:
Opener- 230kg Passed
2nd - 242.5kg Passed (comp pb)
3rd - 247.5kg Failed. 2 red lights for not getting my shoulders back enough.

Deadlifts felt strong.

Totaled 665kg which is a pb. Pleased how things went as I never failed any lifts due to not being strong enough to lift them and think I've got more to come. The mens team results were 1st Wales, 2nd England, 3rd Scotland, 4th Northern Ireland but the scots were the last ones standing after all the drinking Tongue . Going to drop back down into the 90's for the seniors in 3weeks time. Happy
