We all have bad days Martin. Good winters training and you'll continue to progress in comp placings I'm sure.

Robbo said: You dont think 10% is worth bothering with? So for example a 220/160/300 total would look like 240/175/330 That difference is way more than enough to to separate a winner from an also ran. That's just an example and I'm not referring to any comp or sport in particular but I'm sure you can appreciate those increases can make a significant difference No I don't think 10% is worth bothering with when all you'll win is a trophy or title....which mean nothing to me. I can aprieciate why someone who's living may depend on there performance in there sport my be bothered for that extra 10% although I do not agree with it.

Post Edited: 11.07.2012 @ 17:04 PM by stephen Ok maybe my idea of 30% increase is abit out as it wasn't based on anything scientific haha but 10% seems too low or why would anyone even bother(remember sport is really just a hobby for the majority)?. Also guys I'm thinking of started using when lifting mediocre weights so weren't exactly world class lifters to begin with or even ended up being so.

Post Edited: 11.07.2012 @ 14:48 PM by stephen 7-12% doesn't seem right to me? After seeing other peoples results and from speaking to them it is probably more like 30% increase in performance/weights lifted which is a huge amount!

After reading it, he justs spoats on about a few things that we already know and makes out that he's the only one to realise these things or am I missing something?

Went for some MMA training tonight: 1hr of stand up - loads of punching and kicking. 1hr of ground work - technique on choke holds. Was good fun but was blowing out my arse with the stand up stuff.

brocerslrd said:The mad think is that road bikes now are probably faster than drag bikes were 15 years ago. I mean the 600cc lap record for the isle of man tt is faster than the senior lap record from 15 year back Have you been to the TT? I went in 2010 and again this year and it blows your mind the speed that the racers come by you at. Then when you ride around the track and see how bad the roads are you really apprieciate how good the racers are! The only decently surfaced part is over the mountain and as it's pretty open it's not that hard to go fast but it is boring compared to other parts of the track.

ITRG said: lol cheers mate love the support only take a minute rest so will try increasing it and stretching whats best for hamstrings??? No problem you can always count on me for motivation. haha Just google for hamstring stretch's as they would be too hard to explain typing here apart from touching your toes if you can? But there are a good few more as well but sitting down and reaching out to your feet etc.

Woolfie said:I've also got a '99 R1! (in red and white) Complimented by a TDR250 and an RG500. All hooligan bikes, what does that say about me? Any pics of the RG? R1's are brilliant. I keep thinking of getting something more modern but the R1 is just a quick as anything I've found so it would only be a waste of money.

I've got a 1999 Yamaha R1, 1985 Suzuki GSXR750 and a Yamaha TT350 enduro bike. As you can guess I love my bikes. Been around bikes all my life due to my dad who has 11 I think ranging from mopeds to 1000cc sports bikes and he's even got an old Bultaco 2 stroke road racing bike that he use to race when he was 17/18.

brocerslrd said: I used to have an old Land Rover discovery that was off road ready and that only did 25mpg. The Range Rovers i've had did about 15mpg. My series 3 land rovers about 20mpg So pretty thirsty then. I quite fancy a 4x4 pick up but I'd really want at least 30mpg. I've seen these pick ups quoted as doing 35mpg+ but I was abit dubious about that?

Leggiez said:Never tried a trap bar for deadlift thus far , i presume its a bit easier than normal DL with it sitting more central to your body ? Good work m8 , i dont know how you manage to motivate yourself for those solo sessions , i feel lost when im training alone Aye trap bar deadlift is well easy compared to normal deadlifts due to a better centre of gravity and a higher pick up, there great if you can't be f**ked training hard. Training alone is no fun at all. I like to have a laugh when training which is better in a group, training alone is just boring! Went to the Killie gym tonight and trained with Damien, Martin & Arthur. Squats: 20x6 120x5 180x3 205x3 205x3 205x3 C/G flat bench: 20x10 70x5 110x5 130x5 130x5 130x5 (last rep paused) 110x6 (wide grip) D/B O/H/P: 32.5's x8 32.5's x10 Good session and was good to catch up with everyone. Might do a powerlifting comp in september but not sure to do it equipped or unequipped? |
