Cheers Ian but I need to stop messing about and start a plan.

Benvie said:Nice work recently Stephen, you got any more comps this year?

Thanks Neil, I was thinking of doing a powerlifting comp in september but don't think I can be bothered really so just going to give it a miss. If the strongman comp in Livingston goes a head in Nov then I will definetly do that.

Tun said:Cheers stephen for sunday. The Scottish corner stood solid enough! Had a great time helping out. No doubt we will see you again..

Yeah Sunday was a good laugh. Think we were the loudest there and we definetly seemed to be having more fun than anyone else. Happy

Top effort on Sunday and as you say you weren't out of your depth....in that field of top strongmen that is something to be proud of. I had a great laugh and really enjoyed cheering everyone on especially the Scots.
Next year you may even challenge for a podium place at the rate your progressing.

Trained on sat at mine after nearly 2 weeks break again. Trained at mine with Nik, Jackie, Martin, Damien and two new guys.

Ifsa log:

65x10
85x5
100x5
100x5
100x5
65x10 strict press.

Yoke:

160x20m
240x10m
240x20m

Car push:

1 run of 40m up an incline.

Then messed about with a 90kg stone showing the two new guys different techniques that they could try.

Trained tonight at Glencairn gym alone.

Squat:

20x10
70x5
120x5
180x3

Just going to start from here and slowly build up, hopefully I'll be more consistent and squat at least once a week.

C/G Incline Bench:

20x10
60x10
100x5
100x5

Done these as wasn't able to flat bench as it was being used.

Then did some shoulder & bicep rehab stuff along with some stretching.

I have to echo everyone else, what a great comp! Ben pulled out all the stops and him and his whole team deserve a massive well done!
I went down with John Pollock, he doesn't come on here but asked me to thank everyone for a great day and he throughly enjoyed the chance to compete against the best in Britain. He's only been doing strongman since April so is still learning the ropes and hopes to be back competing next year with all the beasts!

Equipment looks awesome. A fair few would manage that deadlift set up I would think but you wouldn't get huge reps.
Once everything is sorted would it be ok to come over for some training?

24th sound ok for everyone?

24th of Nov is great for me. As Martin says most of the scottish strongmen would be eligible and would be easy enough to self police so to speak as we all know each other.

Stick my name down & I'll get most of the guys I train strongman with to do it too...so maybe 5/6 more?

I'm in two minds now wether to go back to the programme or to go with increasing my single every week.....

The 240 was the easyist it has ever felt feel got for at least 270 Happy

Stick to the programme as it's what you need to be doing. Even if you want to modify it a little so that it suits you better.

Thanks for the vids Drew. Unfortunatly I had to give the comp a miss so was good to be able the watch your productions. Comp looked great and good to see a strong showing from the Industrial Strength guys.
