Superb lifting from all 3. Although I think normally who ever broke the record 1st would be the record holder, the other 2 only equalled the record?

I helped out at a strong women comp on Sunday. Was held in Stevenston in Ayrshire. Think the organisers will be putting on more comps as well. Pm me some contact details and I'll pass them on. Here's a link to an excellent write up from one of the competitors. http://www.hotnewyou.co.uk/2013/02/this-is-sparta/

Looked like there's more there for sure. I've never tried anything like that but it does look sore.

Because I'm 6ft 6 and fitter than 99% of 80kg men Wink I always say this to people I'm a very big person probably heavier than I look. I have size 17 feet, this is not cause I have made myself big. If a 6ft 6 man weighs 120 they don't look big at all. I have had numerous health checks since wsm and my bp is better than it should be and the highest resting heart rate I've had is 76. So I can safely say I'm healthy Happy

Thought I'd check my resting heart rate and it's 65(which is very surprising). Most of society think that if a person is thin they are healthy, I'm sure we all know people who are thin but not very healthy as they may lead a very sedatary life style. Another thing about the top strongmen such as yourself Terry is that you are in fact elite athletes which many forget and don't realise how fit you all are, all they see is how strong you are.

shortandmighty said:I don't think that getting people to do it is such a problem. If a decent comp is organised at the right time people will do it. What is a problem is the finals just outside London and last years was over 2 days. I ended driving 3/4 of the way on Friday and stayed over at my bros then another 3 1/2 hours Saturday. I think that puts us at a disadvantage to most people from the Uk. Also people seem to be put off by the fact it is a tested comp.

I see your point and if we had a qualifier then hopefully the guys who qualified would be able to make the journey down to London. Maybe they would get an invite to one of the international comps too? As I think guys were representing Scotland at a couple of the international comps that weren't Scottish( I could be totally wrong on this?).

Surely it would be easy enough to get 5 entrants to each weight class?

I'd be up for competing if there was a Scottish Qualifier.
» Biggest atlas stone in the uk? (Go to post)26-01-2013 @ 17:33
Wow so there's a few big atlas stones knocking about and unbelievably a few guys have lifted them! Terry 235x3 is crazy stuff. All these big stones are located down in Englandshire then? What about up here in Scotland, has Stuart Murray got a 205kg atlas stone?

My mate has just got a couple of atlas stones and one weigh's 235kg and is huge. Doubt anyone will ever lift it Eek . Is there any stones in the UK bigger/heavier than this? What's the biggest stone lifted from someone from the UK?

Also with Rab you have to remember he's took at least 18 years to get to the numbers he's doing were
as we done it in a lot less time which must take its toll on the body.
