Turns out I did pop something in my back, lol. Prolapsed disk had me on the shelf for 2 months, but sensible rehab and muscle memory has got me to a level now where I want to start logging again.

Saturday 16/4

May as well start with today. I've had the strangest week to be fair, deadlifting last Saturday and back went again, couldn't walk Saturday, Sunday so took work off on Monday, reaching for my chicken wrap say in the sofa and it seemed to pop back in. Most of pain gone, ability to walk regained and lifting was no problem, odd one.

Anyway, went to the iron pit today with general and Liam. First events session since November, so wasn't expecting fireworks ........

Log clean and press

60kg x5, x5
70kg x3
80kg x3
90kg x3
100kg x1
110kg x1
115kg x1
120kg x1
125kg x1 - lol, didn't expect that. Had no wrist wraps on or any protection on the elbows. Not a bad start to my program

Axel FTOH

50kg x3
70kg x3
90kg x3
100kg x1
110kg x1
120kg x1
130kg x1 - PB turbo lol, same as log
100kg x8 - loads more reps in there, just couldn't be arsed really!

Farmers - 40m course

30kg
70kg
90kg
110kg - about 20 seconds with drop at the turn

Then just loaded a 90kg stone and couldn't be arsed, was goosed anyway.

Not bad at all really, great place to start with events again. Building towards the u90 Midlands qualifier, then will see how I go from there.

One things for sure, the Flash's log is alive again.

Word!

Thanks Flash! Yeah I knew it was a fair way off the best guys such as yourself and Mike.
I'll do my best to keep improving buddy. Hope you're well.

You are not a way of at all mate. 2 sessions in and you have pressed 117.5.

With the overhead power you have, you will sail above 130 in no time, just need time to get used to the log. I found doing all 3 variations of the press in one session (one motion, strict and push press) bought my log up rapidly. I did it as a complex and did 3 sets on the same weight. 6 weeks of that and you will have 125+ I reckon.

I was going well mate, then my disc decided to escape again on Saturday. Looking at a long lay off now. No idea when/if I will be back.

Thank you.
Well I think 'officially' is Dan Ashcroft with 120kg at ESM u80kg 2015. I'm sure he's probably done more in training though (but unsure if at u80?)
And then there's freaks like Shane, probably logged over 200 at under 80. The f**k.
Also, Mike has done a 130 I think? Again, not sure if u80, but probably close.

I done 123.5kg at England's u80 pal.

I done 130 at britains u90 as well, weighed in at 84 fully clothed and phone in pocket that day too.

Think Mike has done 135 in training, not sure on his weight.

Great logging by the way. Keep it up!

Hey you funny mother f**ker! Haha! Hope you're well mate.
But seriously, I have a tendency to stay on my toes too long when I push press, so the log at full extension really could be higher (plus, I wear my oly lifters when push pressing, so they add a small amount of height.... The clearance is literally 1-2cm).
Old people live above my garage (in a coach house), I already feel a little bad when deadlifting in there so I think t**tting their flooring in might be a little bit of a step too far! Grin
I'll log outside when I want to push press, good weathers coming.
How's your injury mate? Managing to get some good training in again?

Ha, was joking mate. I totally get it! Don't wanna be knocking on someone's floor with a big ass log.

I'm moving into a similar house mate, with flats above my garage, so might start experiencing the same thing.

Can't wait to see what you start logging mate. Gonna be big.

Yeah, all going well mate. Numbers creeping up and pain isn't there. Probably about 80% at the mo. Watch this space

Thank you. Enjoying using my new log. Hopefully some decent lifts to come.
When I get it outside I'll see what I can push press (can't currently as garage ceiling is too low)! Grin

Do your arms get longer when you push press? Grin

Good log

Yes general! Top squatting
» General Training Log (Go to post)02-03-2016 @ 18:40
Easy answer, don't deadlift.

Squat and overhead is where it's at.

If you need to deadlift, pain drugs is your friend.
