So this weekend, since one of my best friends and arch rivals, Carlos Reyes, hit some great numbers on log and yoke, figured that i would give it a go. I dont know what it is, but he always beats me by 1 rep on the press lately... i did get him on the yoke though (even if i was wearing a belt Wink. Hope you lads enjoy!

I think it all depends on how strong your core is. Personally, i squat low bar, but with yoke i have it high because my core is strong enough to keep my chest up and walk as fast as possible.

I would suggest sitting down into the clean and getting the log as high as possible on your chest. Keep your elbows high and squeeze your back. Check out video's on youtube of Mike Mastell... he's one of the best over here in the US

US National U90KG Class Runner Up Rob Kearney came down from further away in Connecticut to come train with myself and Mike Mastell. 3 solid pressers in the room in the same workout...the pressure is on!

Worked up to 130kgs / 285lbs x 5. Just scraped by Rob Kearney's huge set of 4 Wink . Training with stiff competition really gets the PR's flowing.

Just scraped by is right! One of these days I will find a way to beat you in a pres.... one of these days. Even being 15+ pounds heavier than you, you still beat me... unbelievable! Yesterday was fun bro, definitely gotta do it again soon.

I've been training for about 5 years, only competing for the last year and a half in Strongman.

I do like the axle a little bit better than a barbell... not sure why, just a preference thing I guess. The video was take at my school where i go to college, we are very fortunate to have a sick weight room!

Did this the other day... was originally going for 136kg (300lbs), but after hitting that with ease I had to go heavier... Grin
