Mark said:I think there needs to be more comps like Salt Ayre Classic tbh, that allows people to choose challenging weights and be placed into a relevant category.

Also, some guidelines as to what weight/distance/time should be classed as novice or inters when setting a comp.
Without this we have novice comps with log medley from 60-90kg compared to 100kg for reps in another novice comp. Clearly both are a different standard but classed as novice

I get exactly what you mean, but however without us all subscribing to a governing body that would set standards and tell us what has to be what this will always happen.

Yeah mate I'll be up for that next year. I knew you were running it, however I'd done 3 comps in June and felt like I needed a rest or would of gladly done it. Cool

Why are there not many intermediate comps ran, and have there always been a lack of them? I placed recently in a novice comp and would like to progress onto intermediates, however you hardly see any being run. It seems the trend to run either novice or open. Thing is after placing it would feel shallow to keep doing novice, but most opens just seem too far out of my reach. Don't get me wrong it's not the fact of feeling the need to place that stops me, I just don't fancy doing comps where I'd not score in more than one event.

Has anyone got the results from this?
» Protein deals (Go to post)29-06-2013 @ 09:00
Does anyone know of any good protein deals at the min? I'm looking for a good quality whey with over 80% protein content or even a whey isolate. I've been getting PHD pharma whey, however my supplier has just put it up an extra 10 a tub.

Billy little 1st
Damien Turner 2nd
Ben France 3rd
Pat Wilken 4th
Paul West 5th
This was the 3rd good well run comp I've seen put on by Bob in less than a week. Just a shame he was let down by athletes not showing up.

Thanks to Stan and all his crew for running this today, the comp was well run IMO event though it'll of been a hard day for them running 2 comps with 6 events each. I'm even more happy as I hit the podium for the first time with a 3'rd place. Only beaten by 2 of my pals who train with me at elites yard (thanks to Bob Daglish).

A great day with some good lads competing in both comps. Thanks again Stan and crew.

Ye give them a comp that means nothing but they'll do well in and there in.
give them a national qualifier were they'll be put to the test and there nowere to be seen.

Maybe there are a few like me. I know my lifts aren't good enough this year so I'm doing some smaller comps and trying to build my strength with hopes to do this comp next year.
