Thankyou to everyone today for all your support, sorry for the length of time it went on and for the cold conditions! Really pleased how it went, some great competitors in both the novices and the opens and met some really great people today. Thankyou to everyone that travelled long distances to compete and spectate. Also a great big thankyou to Daniella Scozzi for a fantastic display and raising the profile of strongwomen. We've had an awesome day guys, weeks and weeks of hard work has finally payed off and we calculated that just over 600 people came through the doors throughout the day, which we're over the moon about. We'll learn from our mistakes today for future comps and there are a few things we'd definately do differently next time. Please feel free to give me feedback from today, good or bad, so we can make the next event even better and most definately warmer!!! Cheers Gibby

Hi Guys, As you've probably all seen, the weather forecast in Wales looks a bit dodgy this week with snow expected in some areas. If everyone can keep me up to date with conditions in their areas towards the end of the week, that would be most appreciated. Fingers crossed, we'll escape the worst of it.

Not facilities to heat tacky as yet, but trying to find a spare microwave, should be able to. You can get in on the door, but tickets are going fast and we've gotta keep an eye on numbers, so best to get them through the website www.celticcarnage.com

Things have changed from the original plans when I first posted about the comp. We are running the Opens, with the novices in between. So Opens log, followed by Novice log, then back to the opens and so on. Not only does it keep the crowd entertained throughout, it allows a good break between events and a chance for everyone to mix together.

Hi Lads, still waiting for more competitors profiles and pics to put on the celticcarnage website. There are a couple on there already, so take a look and get some sort of idea. We'll be keeping them on there, so it will raise your profiles and that goes for you novice guys too, training pics will do, even just a head shot. We'll be publishing some of them in our programme for the day. Competitors forms will be on the way shortly, sorry they've taken so long. Also, if anyone is staying near the venue the night before and is after a nice big breakfast the morning of the comp, then I've arranged a bit of discount with a cafe that does a mean cooked brekkie just down the road. For the healthier guys, Im sure if you ask nicely, he'd warm your oats up and chuck a couple of scoops of whey in there!! Anyone interested, msg me so I can get an idea of numbers. Like I've said before, the locals are buzzing about this comp and we feel we've marketed it quite well, with all the local papers involved, some even running competitions to win tickets. We have a radio ad paid for by our sponsors which is on 8 times a day from today until the 4th Feb. The Evening Post from Swansea are sending their promotional trailer down and staff to cover the event, as well as S4C and now possibly one of the news channels. We have posters, banners and 5,000 flyers in numerous places and we have several outlets in the area selling tickets for us, as well as ticket sales on line through the website, which are going well. As you'll see on the day, no expense has been spared to make this one of the best comps you've ever been too!! So we appreciate it if you can bring as much support as possible with you and spread the word around yourself. I look forward to seeing you all on the day. Cheers, Gibby

Yes, there will be a TV crew filming there on the day. What we would also like everyone to do is send us any training or competition pics that you might have and a brief profile of yourself, age, weight , height, pbs, favourite event etc. so we can put them on the website, for every competitor to have an individual profile for everyone to see. Cheers Guys, Gibby

Hi guys, I,ve received many messages off competitors asking for a plus 1. You must appreciate, that's 36 plus 1s altogether. Entry is only £5, which is very reasonable and that includes children U16 for free with a paying adult. We have a top drawer indoor venue for the day, which is by no means cheap. Out of 36 competitors, we have so far only received 12 entry fees. The costs for putting on the event amount to almost £4000, as we aim to make this a top event with huge crowds to cheer you all on. So ticket sales are crucial to us, just to break even. What we can do for you guys, is if anyone is willing to sell a minimum of 10 tickets to friends, family or guys down your local gym, then we will give you a free ticket for every 10 sold. We are expecting a huge turn out on the day and we want to create a rocking atmosphere for you guys to compete in. So if you are interested in selling some tickets, please e-mail me at alex.gibby@gibbynutrition.com with all your details Cheers Gibby

Hi guys, this comp has gone mental, the response from the local area and the media is unbelievable. We have now printed tickets up due to the demand and we advise that if you have any friends or family coming with you, that they purchase tickets on our website, www.celticcarnage.com tickets are priced at £5 for adults and children under 16 go free when accompanied by a paying adult. Tickets can be collected at the door on the day or sent out to you. Please check this out, as I'd hate for anyone to be disappointed on the day. |
