Just to clear everything up and to add to what Simon said: If you are not of Welsh Descent and have lived in this country for over 2 years and HAVE NOT entered any other Nations qualifier, then you are eligible. If you are of Welsh descent, but have lived outside of Wales for a number of years, regardless of how many years it is, as long as you HAVE NOT entered another Nations qualifiers, then you are eligible. Checks will be made on each competitor.

spam_up said: Seems a bit strange that. So if you were born in Wales, raised by two welsh parents, went to a welsh school and speak fluent welsh but have lived over the border for a couple of years you don't count as being welsh? ![]() Hi mate, read it again, it says you ARE eligible if you are of Welsh descent and have lived out of Wales for over 2 years.

Hi lads, really good feed back on the events, glad you all like them. Big thankyou to Simon T. for helping me put them all together. The main aim was to keep them different from the Opens on the Saturday and from Celtic Carnage, so the crowd can appreciate that there's more to strongman than just log press, farmers and yoke. As Simon has mentioned, this is a qualifier for the British and the winner has an invite from Dave Warner to the Europeans, which unofficially will be held in Ireland at an unbelievable venue, around the 2nd weekend in September. This is a great oppurtunity and I'm confident we can drive the U90kg class in Wales forward. I'll be working closely with Dave Warner in the future, as he is concentrating organising U90kg events over there. One idea I have is to have a Celtic Challenge once a year, taking it in turns to have it over here and in Ireland. We have good media coverage again for this event and the whole weekend will attract huge crowds, we're really throwing the kitchen sink at this one to make it a massive event. Big announcements to come soon. Terry Hollands will also be there on the Sunday to ref you guys.
» need somebody to run wales and scottish qualifiers for Arnolds Brit final (Go to post) | 20-04-2012 @ 21:36
I'd be very interested to organise this. We have a great venue, awesome sponsors and a huge following now in Wales. Celtic Carnage would also be very apt for a Welsh/ Scottish qualifier. Please pm me further details.

I haven't decided yet, speaking to Dave Warner next couple of days. Hi lads, be nice to start getting some names in to start the competitors list off. I know there's the usual suspects, but just drop a line to confirm. Also, unless you were in Celtic Carnage, we'd like to get a detailed profile and pics off everyone competing for the programmes and also the website. Entry fees we will just take on the day, so need to worry about that yet.

Saturday night stop over is a must, be rude to travel all that way and not go out!!lol. Gotta be Martin Cee's place, Bar 24 in Gravesend. So many good weekend hotel packages on line these days, Premier Inns or Travelodge, gotta be some of them nearby and booking now would get you a good deal. I know for myself, it's near 5 hours, allowing for traffic, so I'm defo staying the 2 nights.
