Jesus, that's some progress. You seem now to be hitting the kind of vein of form, dedication, belief and resulting progress that put so much on your total into the six months up to last April. It's kind of scary.

Ant was gutted he couldn't make it - I saw him at the gym running "punishment cardio". He looked like he'd just got out of a pool.

Sunday 11/2

First of two days of change up, back off and recover.

Bench 20x8, 60x5, 80x3, 100x1, 110x1, 115x1, 100x3x3 (all paused).

Working on setup, form, pause and explosiveness here, with three-second pauses. Added comedy value: new people starting across the gym to help the fat guy with pinned under the big bar, whereupon it goes back up to lockout fast Happy.

I feel like I could pause these forever, and all the positives were *quick*. I still struggle, like traditionally joni has, to get the first negative down fast - and after that they're fine. Needs work.

I actually think I figured some stuff out here about foot position and wrist position - the latter might explain why my bench dropped as soon as I stopped using gloves! Hope so.

Incline DB Press 40x5x2.

Piss, piss easy.

And that's that. Stretch, chat with Ant, home.

According to the youtube comments, they were loading the bar on the box because, when they put the full weight on it, they couldn't get it onto the stacks of phonebooks Grin.

That makes complete sense, Olly, and is what I'll do.

Joni - I was starting to feel toasty this week. My week fours tend to feel like an achievement to get to the end, I'm really ready for the change at the end of it!

I really don't want to get back to where I last year before I started doing the deloads, where I got unplanned deloads by just being unable to train fairly regularly and had a resting heartrate of 92! So I think the deload stays for the moment.

Thanks boys.

Opinions needed.

I've been trying to decide what to do next week. Normally I do four weeks and then a deload week, but that doesn't mesh well with a nine-week deadlift programme; so I'm thinking I might carry the deadlifts through until peaking on the last week of the next four, and then have a really thorough deload the week after. So, for next week, a sort of five-day deload, then back to work:

Sunday: Bench up to 110x3 then 90x10 or so (my usual deload work).

Wednesday: Squat either up to say 100x5x3, or maybe just work up to a single around 140-150 (since I've been doing fairly light volume work, "deload" with a heavy single). Opinions?

Friday: week five of Jackson deadlifts (inc platforms), but no other work.

Latwork only light and only Wednesday. I've made great lat strength (and I think size) gains working 3x/week, but I'm starting to feel the fatigue now.

Does this make sense?

Friday 9/2

Jackson week four.

Deadlifts 60x8, 100x3, 140x1, 170x1x5.

Rack pulls 100x2, 140x2, 180x2, 210x2 PB.

These felt heavy in my hands, but then I've never had this weight in my hands before.

Narrow-grip pulldowns 70x8.

Partial chins 3x5. Less good than last time, I think.

Narrow-grip pulldowns 112x8x2 PB.

Stretching and off. Another pretty good session Happy.

As you can see, I took all of half an hour off from them Happy.

It was f**king brutal, and you were very visibly wrecked at the end. Great stuff!
