Your pop out of the bottom on those push presses is far, far better than the last time I saw you working them. As long as you get your head through you're going to have no problems at all.

I honestly think super wide, thoroughly paused, heavy inclines will sort it. I've been really converted to the gospel of bench, close-grip, incline.

Of course there are lots of better benchers on here that don't do that! Why not ask Martin Flett's advice?

Forgot (here, I did it on MT) to thank Andy for the vid. It's weird seeing lifts on video, they're always so much faster and easier-looking than they felt on the inside!

I dropped it on the matting, Jon; didn't seem to bother any of the others who were there.

Anyway, I hereby formally repent the dropping of deadlifts, as it seems to trouble so many.

PB? You dropped it.

No, I threw it down Happy. I know that would be a fail in comp, but I wouldn't do it in a comp.

Thanks everyone. Happy with my progress but my f**king shoulders are completely shot today. How do you guys deal with the lower bar position????? f**king up my shoulders.

Very, very badly, as you saw on Wednesday when I couldn't even lower the bar to my chest.

Well done again mate! Lovely squats.

That would be brutal. Mind you joni seems to rep some big numbers on these iirc...

Outstanding. You've normally got plenty of depth to spare iirc so "felt a bit shallow" probably means they were bang on.

Friday 17th August, pm, Adlington

All in pounds today.

Deadlift 135x5x2, 225x3, 315x2, 365x1, 405x1, 455x1, 475x1 PB, 405x3 PB.

This is 215kg on the top set, a small PB and one that to me confirms the theory that if you're squatting hard and deadlifting some you'll make progress on both. Everything easy apart from the 475, which was not hard. I believe Little A has some video evidence.

Quite a bit of ghey stuff, then spotting and shouting for Hayden's very impressive new squat PB.

Any outdoorsy shop eg Cotswold will sell you chalk balls, targeted at climbers. They're ideal for people who are carrying their own chalk.

The O-lifters are going to know far more about this than I do mate, but from what I gather even quite small breaks can cock up your timing. It's such a game of fractions of inches.

Looking at the way Jeff (Wigan's) been snatching recently, half of his lift are perfect and the other half he's disgusted with himself; and they can and do happen in the same set.

You'll be back in the groove soon.

It's a "deadlift from blocks" - you can probably see the bar is resting on a platform to raise it further off the ground.

On MT you said this was starting from your sticking point - and if you're pulling equal to your current PB from your sticking point that smoothly you should have a really nice PB in you. Awesome.
