Losing the line on board press is common.I mess the line up sometimes just takes some practice lowering heavy weight to the correct spot.

Thanks mate, will do.
I don't really care about pausing, the main goal of this is a 220 bench touch and go. You reckon paused bench would be ok done as an ME exercise instead of touch and go every couple of weeks?
cheers buddy Happy
.

I wouldn't worry about paused bench. You got to find the bench exercises that work for you and just keep rotating them over and keep chipping away with pbs.Floor press close and medium grip benchpress bench with bands and 4 inch board press worked well for me.

For speed bench just do touch and go.Don't worry about the weight just make sure your fast.Just start very light and if you feel your benching fast go up in weight a little.

When im on site holding sheet metal above my head waiting for my mate to fix it in place i get massive lactic acid burn. All he says is its light and you go to the gym and your supposed to be strong. That annoys me.
» Bands or chains (Go to post)03-06-2010 @ 12:48
I would get bands first because it might take you some time to find chains.I was told to get both and use bands for a few weeks then chains then straight weight.

My best close grip for 1 paused rep is 180 mate, and yeah i think a 200 bench would be there if i could learn to bench with a wide grip properly. Hands just on the knurl actually feels like a wide grip for me, and even that feels awkward lol.
Maths! I've just finished my 1st year of a degree at Plymouth uni.

Just gradually widen your grip out over a few weeks.Feels weak at first but once you get used to it you should hit 200.
