Not a chance this week, back fatigued from the heavy deads on thursday and box squatting yesterday, it'll soon go.

Double Overhand 18" Deads

185kg x 2 PB
Pleased here, think a 200kg double overhand deads on the cards son. Grips feeling good.

Barrel Clean And Press

Pleased as these felt very easy, all one motion lifts and cleaned on every rep.
Hopefully videoed this if i can put it up ok!

Pleased with these, getting confidence back with them now, no hesitation when picking, straight in and up. Need to make a platform as i have nothing to load on at the moment.

100kg sandbag

Pick + 8 top half 'heaves'
Pick + 5 top half heaves

Felt quite easy - hoping it helps with the hip pop for stone lifts. Feels like it will help.

Good workout today, endurance lacking a bit as i've been pushing hard this week. Looking forward to a few days rest now, pretty tired!
Really pleased with training though its coming on better every day.

Been reading through your journal mate, some nice training.
I see your down as 90kg, has that gone up seeing as your main focus is under 105's?

I was aiming for under 90's myself but weight keeps climbing - the good stuff going on so i don't really mind.

Great speed off the box, very happy with form, felt good. Confident of beating my max off this box of 155kg next week.

Front Squats

Pretty good reps, still dislike fronties but needs must.

Did the job, want to keep hitting calves as they have a tendency to become twigs lol!

Not benched in a long while, as usual i struggle with form, not massively concerened - my overhead work matters more but i'll keep trying with these. Felt pretty easy but struggle with leg drive and cramping in hips.

Cheers lads, appreciated. I'm loving getting back into my heavy training. Really motivated now to go further than i ever have before, my strength is fast approaching highest ever levels and i really want to make this winters training count.

Week 4 Phillipi Deadlift Routine

Deadlifts - 90% desired max

75kg x 8
125kg x 8
150kg x 5
175kg x 1
175kg x 1
205kg x 1
225kg x 3 REP PB!

Target this week was 225kg x 2, felt easy tbh so banged out a third, 4th was there but left it as i'd already gone over prescribed amount and was mindfull of the heavy speed deads to come. 225kg x 3 works out at a 250kg pull - my desired max already, x 4 would work out at about 255kg x 1 so i'm massively happy and on course for a goor gain from this programme. Pleased as 13th october i regained my 227.5kg x 1 dead and it was slow, these 225kg x 3 banged out really quick!
I was tempted to try 240kg today and reckon i'd have got it but trying to stick to programme! Damned happy with this!

Speed Deads - 75% Desired Max 120s rest between sets

187.5kg x 3 reps x 5 sets

Damn near killed me - tougher this week! Still moved good and quick and really happy with my form, finally got it down right for me think!

CIRCUITS- 90 sec rests between exercises, 2-3 mins between exercises, done one exercise after another for three circuits.

Stiff legged deads

Easy, felt good, upper back huge pump.

Barney Rows

Nice and explosive.

Thanks mate. Overhead events were always a weakness for me so i'm working hard to get the numbers right up. I want to try and work on my split jerks too as i feel this is the only way for me to get some descent weight going up, tough to master though isn't it?!

I was determined to get that 97.5kg! First 3 attempts were so close! Got well pissed off, dropped to 85kg which felt very light and repped out an easy rep PB!
Feeling more confident i loaded bar with 97.5kg again and got an easy pb??
Tried my luck twice with 100kg and it so very nearly went but not quite, another few weeks and my goal of a 100kg by xmas will be aceived! Bloody pleased!

Event Day

Nearly didn't bother with this as my back was/is in a world of pain from deadlifting thursday. My lower back is always the weak link and i struggle with recovery with it but i got some work done:

18" Deadlifts, raw just a belt - warmed up then 245kg x 1, 265kg x 1 PB, 275kg x 1 PB, 282.5kg x F, 265kg x 1, x 1

Previous post accident PB was a feable 250kg and i've been wanting to try a maximum out a again for a few weeks, also wanted to see how my grip was for my deadlift maximum in the coming weeks. The 245kg felt really easy so i knew a PB was there so decided to throw on 2 10kg plates and pulled an easy 265kg. I'd been wanting to pull over 600lbs again for a long time and the 275kg went up no problem at all.
My best ever 18" was 280kg at 19+ stone so i wanted to try beat my best ever so went to 282.5kg but wouldn't even shift! It'll go next time for certain and my goal of 300kg hopefully come soon. Over the moon with this considering feeling not 100%, was hoping for 260kg before workout and ended with a comfy 275kg! Also grip is spot on - good for way more than i can currently lift so thats good.

Feeling pretty beat up but wanted to work on my crap log press..

Log press, clean on first rep - 80kg x 4 rep pb, x 2, x 2, x2, x2
Really need to work on these, finding the drive to push press hard with a log, 15kg under my oly bar press and 6kg under axle press. In fact my pressing as a whole needs bringing up but it is progressing quickly.

Lower back pretty sore by this point so finished with:

Farmers Holds 107kg x 25 secs PB, x 21 secs
As soon as i get my collars for xmas i want to start working these hard as it used to be a good event for me but i think its going to feel far different at this lighter weight. These felt ok though and pretty happy with grip.
Hoping to get my yoke made next few weeks then i can begin practice with more moving events.

Did a little bit of ab work and load of stretching and called it a day...pretty damn pleased, coming back pretty well.
