Im gona make some for as cheap as possible.
Ordered some heavy duty racking off ebay. 35

Each shelf takes 175kg. (Spread evenly) so this will be interesting when i dump weights on it from overhead 😮

Its boltless construction but will bolt or weld it together.

Will also add some kind of shock absorption to the top. Possible a few layers of thick foam matting.
And bracing on sides.

How long before it gets wrecked i wonder?

» lying bench barbell row / bench press ratio (Go to post)17-02-2015 @ 22:08

I take it off pins in the rack to start so at full extension the weights can't touch the floor.
Apart from that its the same exercise

Laying on a bench row is a strict row that keeps my form perfect. so not the same as in the 2 youtube clips.

(Trying to find an example now......)

Surely if you've lever are advantageous for bench then they are advantageous for rows and vice versa?
I was always under the impression that your numbers should "roughly" be equal on both movements and have seen a lot of people around that split ratio, albeit on a bent over row rather than a lying row.
Neil, maybe you struggled due to it being a new movement?

Yep. It is a new one for me. That's why i wondered if the row numbers should match the bench numbers as i have no idea lol

Just started doing the lying on a tall bench strict barbell rows. About a month now.
Anyone know if there is a strict row/bench press ratio?
As your back is bigger than chest should the row number be higher?

im at 70 x10 strict row
Compared to 110 x 10 bench

Wayne_Cowdrey said:In my experience, horizontal pressing of any sort = shoulder hazard. I've been doing heavy overhead pressing for many years without any issues. I once hurt my shoulder benching 60kg. Plus, when I quit strongman I had a crazy idea about maybe training for a bench comp. Did some floor pressing (off Argos catalogues) in my garage... and got shoulder pain. I will only ever press vertically now. So many powerlifters seem to have f**ked shoulders. If you're a strongman - avoid! Happy

I was doing rows then thought id hava go at floor press. Prob wont be a regular thing.
