cleans 40 x5 60 x3 90 x3 100 x3 110 x2 - all power cleans up to this point 120 2x2 - didn't want to push these tonight as I went heavy on Monday Single arm dumbell press Really enjoy doing these. Still only second time having a crack at them. I might try and make them my "signature" event!!! 20 x8 L&R - strict presses to warm up the shoulders. Only cleaned the first rep with each arm 30 x3 L&R - still strict. Again only cleaned the first rep up 40 x2 L&R- clean and press/jerk for each rep 50 x5 L&R- breathing through my arse after this set. It was more lack of fitness than anything which made me stop 50 x3 L&R- still f**ked from the first set. Plenty of time to start pushing the reps up so thought I'd call it a day. Strength seems fairly even with each arm but the position on my shoulder it a bit more awkward with the right arm. Prob just because I'm left handed! Barbell Curls bar x10 40 x6 50 3s 6r - don't really feel these in my biceps that much, but just think they'll probably have more carryover to strongman than alternate dumbbell curls.....I did miss "the pump" though!! Single arm rows 35 3s 10r - each arm did each rep from a dead stop on the floor. I've got a major imbalance in my back muscles due to a misfiring serratus anterior, so hopefully some unilateral work will help it out

Really he needs a long term income protection or a short term accident/sickness policy. The main issues are finding a company who'll cover injuries caused by strongman, finding a company who won't load the premium due to his bmi and one that'll cover any pre-existing injuries if he has any. GUESS WHAT.......I specialise in arranging insurance policies for people with non-standard circumstances! (and I'm bloody good at it) lol

After not doing any ab work for like EVER, I've started doing some planks.....not weighted yet, cos I'm gay! I'll throw in a few sets of crunches too. I always thought I'd have a pretty strong midsection from never wearing a belt. This is NOT the case!

I did them for a few months several years ago. Compared to your front squats I don't think you'll get much out of them as the ROM is so much smaller. On higher reps sets you can definitely feel them in the quads though.

DomRedshaw said:ok now iv read the thread, by clapping ur acting like a dick n there is better ways to of gone about it but on a more positive note we all can act like dicks but doesnt mean we are dicks in general, we just have our off days. 1 dickish act doesnt make u a dick however if u do this alot then u should know ur a dick anyway lol ^this is spot on. I actually thought you were going to prove yourself a dick by keep trying to justify yourself to the other guys, HOWEVER, you've turned it around and taken it on the chin, so I say: No, you're not a dick!

Cuddles said: The point about that Cavendish was making, is that is how it used to be, but that cycling had aggresively targetting it, and it was working. I'm not saying he is right, just what he was saying. It is worth noting that many people in cycling have gone to prison over this and many many champions have lost their crowns. The current No 1 is in the middle of a controversy over some 'clen'. The Spanish authorities let him off (believing a story about contaminated beef), the world governing body said that wasnt acceptable. It certainly isnt trying to protect its best riders, as he is the biggest draw in cycling. (road cycling) yeah, I can appreciate the point Cavendish was making, but like it was said earlier, I don't think he could really say anything else in an interview. Ultimately, I think there will always be issues with doping in sports, especially in this day and age were multi-million pound sponsorships are on the line. I don't necessarily think that cycling is any better, or worse, than any other sport it's just that blood doping is so dangerous and caused so many deaths that it brought the problem within the sport to the forefront. A legitimate doping test for GH has only in the last 4years or so years been available when GH use itself has been around 4-5x as long as that. Who knows that the top guys are using and when a test will be around to check for it? I'd be surprised if the testers did. That's why I think the interview has to be taken with a pinch of salt.

Great interview! Especially liked the honesty about the bodybuilding side of things, it's exactly like my experience with it. |
