Tried on my squat suit 34 inzer got straps on but couldn't Breathe! Gonna need a 35 to lift properly oh dear!

Laura back from equipped try out where she benched a double at 150kg in a tighter shirt 2.5kg above British record. A real talent.

Today's session - University gym on my own.
Squat raw
8xbar 8x60 8x80 6x110 4x130 4x140 4x150 4x160. Solid session working on technique. Need to build fairly quickly as comp coming up nut cobwebs starting to be blown away after Xmas break.
Bench and rotator cuff exercises
tricep rope pushdown 8x20 8x25 8x30 8x35 8x40kg
sword draws and arm side swings (rotator cuff protection)
Slow release curls 3x5x25kg (lengthens bicep tendon)
seated row 8x70 8x80 8x90
Nice little session.
Helped out a big young lad in gym trying for a 120kg PB bench after repping dealdifts up to 240kg!. strong lad but lacked confidence. So much potential if they just got some decent coaching.

Time to start another blog on here. Worked pretty well last time . Set a 3 lift powerlifting target of 600kg raw in a single comp at 93kg and all but made it (597.5kg!).
Older and fatter but lifting stronger.
Current PB's now in 105kg class aged 55 Squat 212.5kg Bench press 160kg Deadlift 240kg Total 612.5kg. Just competed in GBPF bench equipped and landed a 202.5kg PB.
Enjoyed that but feeling flat after Xmas in the other lifts.
Not sure what to do this year raw or equipped so hoping this blog might help!
Todays session
Raw bench at Grants gym Bishop Auckland.

Raw manyxbar 8x60 8x90 6x110 4x130 2x150 suit on 2x170 1x190 1x205 1x215( 1st comp lift). Ground out after 3 hours sitting on a train back from London. Back sore from rack lifts yesterday too so in circumstances happy with that. Quite tired - looking forward to a good rest before comp

Sunday Bench
Warm up to 2x135 then got 1st and second comp lifts of 160 and 165 up in 46 fury. Shirt not giving me diddly squat but hey ho custom katana for next year! Will need 45 arms and 49 chest!

will beast my arms for rest of week before full rest after Friday
655 total may get a bronze at euro masters - will need a lifetime best squat at least to get me in the hunt - no pressure lol!
Mentally well up for it at least.

warm up then tried katana on again Kept locking up even with 170 on s**t session -shirt will only work if rammed on by a meathead! cant risk it back to fury again for comp and give up my dream for now of adding 20kg to my bench
Took it out on final dead session
warm up raw then ripped up 230 and 240 with anger to confirm these as my first and second lifts at comp

Raw bench maintenance
8x60 8x90 6x110 4x120 5x5x5x4x2x130 not bad seeing as have been messing about in shirts. Shoulders permanently sore at mo just a weekand a half of sessions to go then I can rest up for comp! Juggling all 3 lifts hard as ever!

Sunday Bench
Raw warm up to 2x135 46 fury on 2 bar 3x150 1bar 1x155 chest 1x160 left it there shirt will work.
Tried other shirts only one that really worked was my blue 46 katana. Rammed on tight just managed a 165 to chest. Gonna stick with this one despite problems. I need a decent bench an this is the only one that is going to give me any real chance of a big lift. Just have to keep the faith and make sure I get someone good to put the shirt on! If worst happens and I miss 165 twice in katana I can always stick my fury on for the last go!!

46 katana on.
3x155 on 2 board 2x160 on 1 board 1x165 on half inch board fail! 1x170 chest fail 1x177.5 chest fail shirt despite being rammed on just locking up and forcing me off line!. Crazy when a couple of weeks ago I got a 177 and 182 off the chest. Measured chest - has increased to 49 inches from 48 a few weeks ago. Clearly have outgrown shirt with all the heavy board work! Damn 3 weeks to go and I will have to break in another shirt!!!!
Spose I have to look on the positive side that I should be stronger. Have a new Fury 46 which might stretch more being thinner material. Give it a go next Sunday! Effing equipped gear never simple!!!

Over the moon with that especially after such a s**t bench session and no zip in legs after Tuesday's heavy squats.

Back on form again thank God! Knee niggle disappeared once I had warmed up.
Just need a good bench session thursday and confidence will be back.
