Didn't have a session planned but went in to show a friend how to squat/bench/deadlift.

Supported DB rows
3 x 5 @40kg

Bench
3 x 8 @40kg - I know, massive weight right!

Deadlift
10(ish) x 1 @60-80kg

And spent probably a good 2hours on mobility/foam rolling etc today.

My lower back was sore to a new level this morning.. I took some paracetamol then did mobility/foam rolling etc so by the time they wore off it was fine.

Squats
10 x 3 @140kg - first rep felt the same as the last one so pretty pleased.

Military
10 x 3 @62.5kg - looked through my old logs etc and 62.5 x 3 is a 3 rep PB so to get it for 10 sets is a massive improvement.

Supported DB rows
5 @30, 36, 40kg

Some curls and my rehab stuff.

Overall great session, though I was in the gym probably about 2hours which (for me) is a while..

Went back to Judo again on Thursday, been 3months so feeling pretty unfit.
Today:
Squats
7 x 5 @130kg, had to grind some of these out unfortunately, but it had to be done.

Military
8 x 4 @57.5kg, after the squats these felt pretty easy.

Rehab etc

Squats
5 x 7 @125kg - used a Belt on these

Military Press
7 x 5 @55kg

Rehab stuff

Pretty boring stuff really.. Though my lower back is in pieces from all the squatting and pressing.

Some reason I went back tonight..

Bench
3 @40,60,70kg
1 @80, 90, 95kg - PB again!
- I think after I've finished the base cycle of Smolov il give 100kg a go and see how it is as the 95 was still pain free.

Deadlifts - Fast pulls, trying to keep my form super tight
2 @ 60, 80, 80, 100, 140.

Some pull downs and curls probably about 4/5 sets, don't remember.

3 @70, 80kg

Tore pec 31/11/2011, had it fixed 08/02/2012. Tore my bicep 20/03/2012, didn't get it repaired. Rehab has gone well but now it's time to stop using it as an excuse and get work done.

For those that don't know me, I'm 20, training in Hull, and a medical student (3rd year). Used to do Judo to a reasonable level, and do want to go back once my body isn't so fragile though will probably be more for the coaching side then competing. So I've turned my attention to (attempt) strongman and maybe PL in future.

Goals for 2013:
100 bench (done)
180 squat (done)
220 dead (done)
70 OHP (done)

Edit:
Goals for 2014:

78-80kg at decent body comp.
Pass exams
Injury free

Deadlift 230 (202.5)
Sumo 240 (220)
High bar ATG 180 (still not ATG worthy..)
Low bar 200 (if I go back to doing it, though I'm preferring high bar, current 190)
Bench 120 (107.5)
OHP 80 (70)
Log 110 (85)
Axel 100 (75)
FTOH 110 (90)

I'd also like to be in the mix at the u80 comp in June. Also might consider some others if my strength gets to a reasonable level.

7months of consistent 5/3/1 with squat, dead and military. Ended up with 147.5 x 2 for squat (much better depth etc then earlier in the log), 205kg conventional Deadlift, 202.5kg sumo Deadlift (pulled as a one off just to see how sumos felt), and a 70kg military.

I competed in November, ended up just aggravating my shoulder. Since then started building back up slowly.

Weighing 70-72kg at the min.

Today's session:

Squats
10 x 3 @130kg no belt.

Military Press
10 x 3 @60kg Belt on sets 4-10

Supported DB rows & Pressups 10 sets

Lots of rotator cuff stuff.

HUGE_GUY said:Hey guy, are you still alive?

My pec looks the same as yours from your pics. What did the doc say would happen if you didnt have surgery? Because i never had surgery, and i think all the strength came back..if thats really possible without the tendon? Well, bench was the same after a year of rehab.

How did you do yours? What's the recovery been like?

Yeah, just didn't have Internet for a while, had exams etc and just didn't get round to updating! He said It would stay deformed and I wouldn't get the strength back to normal for a lot longer. It is possible as the pec attaches on both the sternal and clavicular head Happy that's pretty awesome. At the min I'm going slower with the rehab, last week I hit 65kg bench for 8, 60kg overhead for 3, 140kg squat for 7 and 160kg dead for 9. Not 1 rep maxes but they were my top sets this week. I'm also doing Judo again, back up to the point where I can fight anyone at the club and look after myself, will still be a while before il even think about being competitive. Currently I'm seing a phisio and been doing a lot of work on my rotator cuff/scapular movements as I'm no longer getting pain in my pec or bicep so it's just stability holding me back. For my training I'm doing 5/3/1 + Judo 2x + Gymnastics 1x/week and everything feels fine. Mobility etc is way better then it was before, I'm not also weighing 70kg. Don't know if any of that helps? I will probably start updating here more often again Happy

2Weeks since the last session, not good, although exams are now done and out the way. In the past few weeks, I've had an appointment with a consultant neurophysiologist. The nerves in my arm were tested (very painful experience) they're slightly damaged, nothing significant, so shouldn't be a problem in the long run. I'm due a MRI scan this coming Monday, then meet with the surgeon a few weeks later and sort out whats happening from there.

Today

Stretching, foam rolling, warming up & rotator cuff stuff

2 x 10 @90kg

No training today. Ate plenty, spent the majority of the day sat at my desk revising. Fun... Disregard social life, acquire medical degree! Roll-Eyes
